Absolute Disaster: Avoid Liyanage Resort at All Costs

This is, without question, the worst resort experience I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. If you are planning a trip to Mirissa, heed this warning: do not book Liyanage Resort. Our stay was cancelled under false pretenses, the staff was hostile, and the facility itself is a health hazard.

Our troubles began a month after booking when, just one day before our scheduled check-in, we received a message stating the property was closed for "construction." This kind of last-minute cancellation, after holding our reservation for weeks, shows an astonishing level of unprofessionalism and disregard for guests' travel plans.

When we arrived at the property at the check-in time—already stressed and scrambling for alternative accommodation—the staff's attitude was truly appalling. They were rude, confrontational, and behaved badly, refusing to offer any sincere apology or explanation. They also flat-out refused to offer any compensation for the inconvenience they caused, leaving us completely stranded.

Based on the small glimpse we had and the resort's overall feel, the property is an absolute disaster. The most shocking element was the swimming pool: it was visibly dirty, murky, and smelled strongly of stagnant, unsanitary water. This isn't just dirty; it's a health and safety hazard.

Liyanage Resort is not a holiday destination; it is an unmanaged, dilapidated site run by rude and unhelpful individuals. Save your money, save your stress, and book anywhere else. This resort should not be operating.
