The resort covers 56,000 m2 with 146 rooms housed in one- and two-story bungalows. Its location provides a unique setting for water sports, including weekly free diving lessons in the pool and organized diving excursions with transfer. The hotel features both indoor and outdoor pools, a children’s pool, and a private sandy beach just 50 meters away along a 1 km shoreline. Had an amazing time in this hotel. Reception desk is spectacular, friendly and very helpful!! Big thank you to them! Food is delicious, area is very clean, green and visibly taken care of. Awesome sea view and sunsets right in front of the hotel. Rooms were always cleaned perfectly by housekeeping. Thank you for all staff members!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.

The biggest issue was the lack of basic cleanliness and maintenance. The shower drain was clogged and full of hair from previous guests, which clearly showed that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned before we checked in. On top of that, the shower system itself was broken, with water spraying in multiple directions, making it very difficult to use.

Another major inconvenience was that there are no intercoms in the rooms. If you need to contact reception or room service, you are expected to make an international phone call, which is not practical for most travelers. Even when we tried calling reception, nobody picked up the phone.

The room preparation was also poor. There was an empty tissue box left in the cabinet, no kettle provided initially, and several basic items were missing until we specifically asked for them.

On the morning of our second day, we handed the keys to reception around 8 AM and clearly informed them that the shower needed fixing and the drain needed cleaning. However, when we returned around 5 PM, the room had not been cleaned at all, and it seemed like nobody had even entered the room. Even after complaining again, the drain was still not cleaned and fresh towels were not provided.

Additionally, the air conditioning was extremely weak for such a large room, making the environment humid and uncomfortable.

The only positive aspect of the hotel is that the property itself is beautiful, but unfortunately the management and service are extremely poor. With proper maintenance and staff responsiveness, this place could be much better, but in its current state it was a very frustrating stay.

Club Bentota is a nice hotel with a beautiful location and a very pleasant beach. The surroundings are relaxing and perfect for a peaceful getaway. The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the variety and taste.

However, the room maintenance needs improvement. With better upkeep and proper maintenance of the rooms, this hotel could be perfect. Overall, it is a good place to stay, especially for the location and food, but room quality should be enhanced for a better experience.

It was our second time visiting this hotel and it was just wonderful! We got a complimentary room upgrade as it was our anniversary. The staff went out of their way to make everything special for us. The beach is really nice and secluded. The food buffet offered many options. Loved the fact that the hotel has a river on one side and the sea on the other. Lovely views and amazing hospitality. Highly recommend it to people looking for a peaceful break.

The exterior of the resort is very beautiful and well maintained, and the surroundings give a good first impression. However, the cleanliness inside the rooms needs serious improvement. The area near the bathroom had a bad smell, and overall hygiene inside the room was not up to the mark. With better attention to cleanliness and maintenance, this place could offer a much better stay experience

Disgusting — that’s the only word to describe the rooms at this resort. I have never seen such filthy, horribly maintained rooms anywhere. Damp walls with flaky paint, spoiled wooden furniture, urine-smelling bathrooms, and even hair from previous guests still stuck to the walls and floor. The entire room and floor were completely damp. We went with high hopes to spend the last three days of our trip relaxing, based on the pictures and location, but the reality was beyond disappointing. The mattresses were hard, bent, and extremely uncomfortable. Somehow, we managed to spend one night, but literally ran away from this place the very next morning. Staying in such an unbelievably unhygienic room completely ruined the experience. Would never recommend this resort to anyone.
