For the price its a nice little spot with access to an amazing Chinese restaurant. The TVs in all the rooms dont work eleven though they have them. Lots of noise from outside, rumbling bass from somewhere. Overall i would stay again

Chose this hotel because of its name. Perhaps due to the upcoming Chinese New Year, I didn't see any Chinese guests during my entire stay. Such a great little boutique hotel. Awesome location in a quiet leafy area (near embassies) and great clean and contemporary rooms. Staff are very helpful. Great sitting areas and good value for money. Only criticism is it is very difficult to find - it would be helpful if a sign was out the front on the main road to advise of the location out the back of the alleyway.

Nice and clean rooms. Good breakfast. But the receptionist has absolutely no clue of anything. We asked for laundry service and the guy told us there is a laundry 1 min from the hostel 24h open. This was wrong. Opening hours are from 7am - 7pm, so be careful of false statements. We had to leave the next morning so it was a little bit annoying!

Great place to have lunch during a work day. It's affordable and the rice and curry is phenomenal. Even if you're a vegetarian, you won't be dissaponted. This was my first visit to Sri Lanka so i was not sure what to expect. I chose this hotel because it was closest to our outsourcing partner. The room was clean and it had everything i needed including AC. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, but i only tried the breakfast which was pretty decent.

3rd visit to Colombo. Saffron- Calm, peaceful, relaxed stay. The service was simple and wonderful. Excellent for those on a moderate budget. Fantastic food. Surely my preferred choice of stay from now on in Colombo!

Went for the high tea buffet with my office buddies and had a great experience. The food was tasty and there was a good variety of items in the buffet. The price was also very reasonable for what was offered. Overall, it was a really enjoyable time and I would definitely recommend it to others.

A wonderful hotel in the heart of the Islamic quarter of Colombo. There are many mosques around, so your luggage can be lighter at the expense of one alarm clock: at four in the morning, this will be done by the imams of the nearby mosques. Good place. My friends and I will go somehow. We went today. We order mix Nasi goreng ( taste good but reduce the spicy ) and dum chicken biryani ( taste ok) and we order beverages Milo milk shek and pineapple juice and lime juice. This is a good restaurant with tasty food and friendly staff. However, the management could improve on maintaining cleanliness, particularly in the hand washing area - the sinks appeared dirty. Having visited a few times, I've noticed this issue persists. Given the state of the wash basins, I opted not to use the restroom.

Spent the day at The Magroove Hotel for a photoshoot and had a fantastic time. Ms. Fanny and her staff were very helpful and accommodating. Couldn’t recommend this stay more. Worth the nice, longer walks to the “center” so you see more of this beautiful city (pro tip: walk to town in the mornings and take a tuktuk home in the evenings)! If you're looking for an oasis inside the city, the Highbury is the place. I stayed on a long term business trip, and it was exactly what I was looking for after long work days. The accomodations are clean, WiFi strong, and the owners are kind and welcoming. The stay is a short Tuktuk ride away from major attractions and has some great restaurants nearby.
