Flower Garden Resort in Tissamaharama

Very disappointing. Our “villa” turned out to be a treehouse (which we would not have booked if this had been made clear in the booking details) and there was no view of the lake as advertised. It’s really just a local place dressed up on the website to catch a few foreign tourists. Watch out.

My stay at Lake Vila Resort with my family was an absolute nightmare. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel doesn’t care about its guests. The rooms were filthy—dirty bed linens with visible stains and even holes in them. It honestly looked like they never bother to clean or change anything. The dining experience was equally appalling. Both dinner and breakfast were ridiculously overpriced, and the portions were so tiny they could barely qualify as snacks. We left every meal feeling hungry and cheated. On top of that, dinner service was painfully slow—we had to ask multiple times before anyone even came to open up the dining area. Yet, they still charged an outrageous service fee (bill attached). To add insult to injury, the food was terrible. We ordered potato curry for dinner, which barely had any potato in it. The same dish seemed to be reheated and served to us for breakfast—and charged again at full price. To make matters worse, the staff and hotel manager were shockingly rude and unprofessional. The manager, in particular, was dismissive and acted like we were at fault for expecting basic cleanliness and decent service. They even had the audacity to charge us for the meat we brought to the resort. This was hands down one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever experienced. Avoid this place at all costs—they don’t deserve your money or your time.
