A fabulous hotel right on the river with easy access to the town. The service was excellent, nothing was a trouble and the hotel was spotless . We had booked the treehouse overlooking the river, it was beautiful, two balconies, double and single bed, large bathroom with excellent shower. The other rooms all looked lovely too.

The food was good, with fruit, choice of eggs, pancakes, toast, juice, tea or coffee for breakfast and wide option menu (you could also have English or Sri Lankan breakfasts at a cost).

The hotel arranged a full day safari for us, our guide was called Chinthaka. We had read a number of negative stories about Yala, the number of jeeps and ethical concerns. However, I can only say that we had a fantastic time. Yes, when some animals were spotted jeeps would arrive but the animals were respected. Chinthaka was very knowledgeable and clearly loved nature himself. He used nature to locate a leopard (a technique used by people who know their wildlife). We saw two leopards over the day and countless birds, buffalo, elephants, reptiles and mongoose. Yala was by far the best of the three national parks we toured.

All in all a great hotel to base yourself for Yala or Tissamarahama.

We had an incredible time at this hotel and can’t praise it enough! The staff were outstanding – always friendly, super attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay perfect.
The food was a real highlight – delicious, fresh, and varied every meal and everything was top quality.
The pool area was pure bliss: perfectly clean, well-maintained, and the ideal relaxation spot after busy days.
Our room was spotlessly clean in every corner – even behind the bed! The AC worked excellently, keeping things cool and comfortable no matter the weather. The entire property was constantly cleaned and maintained to a high standard, which we really appreciated.
Overall, a seamless and enjoyable stay. We left feeling refreshed and will definitely return. Book it!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights so we could take a tour of Yala National Park.
We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a hotel.
It's located within a gated complex, so it feels private and secure.
The staff and management were very attentive and hard working. The hotel manager even offered to prepare us breakfast for our 4am safari the following morning!
The room was clean with the usual amenities, and the air-conditioning was excellent (much needed!).
Downstairs there's a restaurant that serves all meals of the day. We had dinner twice and a breakfast. The food was great and the wait-staff incredibly attentive.
The hotel also features a neat private garden with an immaculately clean pool to relax in.
A lovely gem of a hotel that makes a great base for a safari at Yala National Park.

Huge beautiful room with balcony and a nice view over the pool area. We booked the superior double room which was on the top floor that is brand new. Very clean, big bathroom, big shower. Good water pressure and hot water. Probably the best looking and definitely the biggesy room we've had in Sri Lanka. The staff was nice and helpful. Bed was decent. Just a very nice looking hotel in general.

What brings down the score is that there's no soundproofing whatsoever. You litterally hear if someone opens the door a few rooms down the hall and every small cricket from outside. Luckily there's not much traffic on the road outside so at least you won't get that noise.
Pool area is very limited with sun beds.
And the restaurant is a bit pricy (as expected in a hotel) but the quality of the food does not meet the expectations at all. Even sent back a dish.

After our safari in Yala, we stayed at a hotel that turned out to be an absolute gem. Recently renovated, the entire property felt fresh, modern, and impeccably maintained. Everything was sparkling clean, from the lobby to the rooms.

The restaurant was another highlight, offering a wide selection of dishes. Whether you wanted local flavors or something more familiar, there were plenty of delicious options to choose from.

Our room was huge, tidy, and incredibly comfortable, giving us the perfect space to unwind after a long day of wildlife adventures. Outside, the garden and pool area were stunning. Lush greenery surrounded a beautifully kept pool.

What truly made the stay memorable, though, was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Everyone we met went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Overall, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge after exploring Yala, highly recommended.

I had a fantastic stay at River Front Hotel in Tissamaharama! The hotel offers very comfortable and well-equipped rooms, ensuring a relaxing experience. The common areas are also impressive, featuring a lovely patio and a refreshing swimming pool, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.

What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, especially in the kitchen. They go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of local dishes to choose from. Every meal was a treat!

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area – a perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

We never seen such a hotel charge all room charges when admit the hotel

Not recomend to any one...bad service.. there was a power cut ..they don't have generator and they are mentioned 3 stars hotel but didn't serve welcome drink also.

After an hour then power was gone.waiting for more than 45 minitues.So we decided to leave hotel because of them bad conditions .

When we admit the hotel we orderd special mix rice but we got another one and it was not tasty .

The lady who in the reception was dont know how to talk the customers and how to treat them. She had bad attitude
Some of staff members are good but overall service is worst...worst place to visit

Most of the staff are very good, nice and clean pool, rooms are clean with large bathroom.
Owner is trying hard to keep the hotel up in this pandemic situation, two young boys work there doing the best with customers requests.

Need some improvement with:
No food choices available.had breakfast at the hotel and didn’t have second choice and same thing repeated (not recommend at all).
Water pressure is so weak, little water comes out from showers and not enough water comes from sink tap. Definitely owner should looking to this issue.
