The hotel coordinated our safari for a fair price and we had an amazing driver (but maybe we just got lucky): 5 stars for that service. Our room was very large and spacious, with a big balcony, at a great price. We didn't try the restaurant or the pool, but the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Location is not great (and also not terrible), but that's fine for a short stay.

Family-run hotel. Everyone was very kind. Delicious breakfast and very clean rooms. Hot water in the shower. The garden is fabulous. The owner offered us fruit picked directly from the trees in the garden. They were super welcoming. Highly recommend!

Perfect place to stay in Tissa- central but tucked out of the way off the main drag so nice and quiet. Everyone was so welcoming at the hotel and there was a lovely family vibe. I’ve been to several hotels in Sri Lanka but this hotel is by far the most service minded and keen of taking care of their guests I’ve ever been to here so far. Great experience in Serenity Hotel in Tissa. They have a swimming pool to enjoy after the journey. Rooms are simple but comfortable. The setting is simply stunning. The resort is nestled right on the Yoda Kandiya Lake, and the views from our Super Deluxe Room balcony were breathtaking—especially at sunrise and sunset. We had booked Tissa Wild Heaven for a group of 8. The rooms were excellent and well maintained. The manager Sean was super friendly and easy to contact. He made sure we had everything we needed and even accommodated our last min requests. The stay has a nice pool with beds on the side to relax. We didn't use it however it was very clean. We loved this place and were gutted to only be here for one night. We originally were staying two nights in a different place in Yala and left as it was not a pleasant stay. The Serene Park Hotel By Ark is a comfortable, affordable and clean hotel to stay at. Close to restaurants and access to go on safaris nearby. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable with local tourist must see places.

The service was decent, but the facilities were terrible. There was no hot water for showering, the door locks were old, and the room was infested with mosquitoes. I stayed here mainly because it was convenient for birdwatching by the lake, but I've moved to a different hotel now. It's not far, about two kilometers, and half the price – much better.

Nasty cockroaches in the room. For very unpretentious guests, it's a one-night stay and then they'll go on safari and never return. The staff is excellent.

Mr Mahanama and his family were very welcoming, friendly and helpful during my family and I's stay in Yala. He was so helpful and provided us with all the information we needed for our first trip. only 5 mins far from the main street by car, the resort is small but lovely. the room is big and clean. you can book jeep to Yala National Park for Safari tour (about 4 hour tour, recommended to go from 2pm-6pm), and the jeep will pick up you at the resort.
