We visited Brookside Resort, Wattegama with our family mainly because it’s quite close to Kandy and easy to reach. The view is nice and the swimming pool is good, especially for relaxing for a short time.
However, the rooms felt quite old and were not very well cleaned, which didn’t really meet our expectations of a resort stay. The customer service was also disappointing, and the breakfast was overpriced for what was offered — just dhal and egg, costing more than what you’d usually pay at a 4-star hotel.
Overall, this place is okay for a short, affordable stay or a quick visit, but it’s not suitable if you’re expecting luxury or high service standards. Better for budget stays rather than a premium resort experience.

We stayed at Brookeside Resort with my family, and it was a terrible experience. The place was unclean and unhygienic, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. We felt very uncomfortable during our stay. Not recommended for families or anyone looking for a pleasant getaway.

We stayed for 2 days at Brookside Nature Resort and had a wonderful experience 🌿😊. The resort offers breathtaking mountain views ⛰️ that made our stay truly memorable. The food was absolutely delicious 🍽️😋. The service was excellent—friendly, prompt, and attentive 👌💫. A special thanks to Mr. Kumara for his outstanding support and hospitality 🙏👏, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax in nature with great food and service! 🌄🍃✨

I visited this hotel for a day out, and while the location and views were absolutely beautiful, the experience at the hotel itself was extremely disappointing. The staff were unfriendly and seemed uninterested in helping guests, which made the atmosphere feel cold and unwelcoming.
The place was poorly maintained and lacked basic cleanliness. It felt like guest comfort wasn’t a priority at all. The food was substandard and everything felt disorganized and chaotic.
It’s a shame because the setting had so much potential, but the hotel service completely ruined the experience. Definitely not worth the time or money. I wouldn’t recommend visiting unless the management seriously improves how the place is run.

We stayed for two nights in June 2024. The Hotel has a dream location with a beautiful view and a nice pool. But otherwise it is a nightmare. Quite old equipment, dirty bathroom (hairs in a shower), monkey poo on the balcony, cocroaches in the room. Not very friendly staff. We returned there after 3 months in September 2024 and it was not better even if the owner promised they would improve. They gave us a VIP suite which was full of thousands dead ants and rotten fruits and animal poo in front of the door (the entrance is from the outside balcony). We didn't stay there and the owner (probably a new one) promised to give us back the deposit. We have not received the money back yet. Avoid at all cost.

Food was bad . It was not properly seasoned and had a weird taste. Place was clean and staff was friendly .

A hillside escape from the heat and bustle of the city. While the facilities are simple it offers most of what you will need and want while relaxing within easy travel of attractions like Kandy city, Hunas falls and the Tea plantations of the Elkadawa valley. Very nice, attentive service, good food and good value.

This has a descent Reception hall. The staff are friendly. The food is not the best in tye country. Not bad for a 3 star hotel.
