This hotel is adequate. Nice location away from the business of Kandy. Staff were really helpful. The hotel/rooms are clean, although look rather tired and very basic for the size of the rooms. Not quite sure it is value for money but the stay was pleasant enough.

This was a great hotel, worked really well for us, we arrived quite late, 6pm. The hotel had us checked in and having drinks on the balcony in no time, overlooking the city before we headed out. Very large rooms with good views and a really easy ‘Pickme’ tuck tuck ride away from the centre. Good breakfast in the morning before we were off to our next stop.

The views are magnificent, across the valley to the temple opposite. The location itself is a little out of the center, but we preferred it, slightly quieter and only a 5 minute tuktuk ride away. Ranji and his team are great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A great place to stay.

It's a nice house with great views, and care takers are really nice. House was relatively clean. The house was advertised including kitchen in airbnb, however advertisement didn't mentioned that there is a $30 cleaning charge per use. Which is very unusual.

Great for budget hotels at kandy

It's a good place to stay for a short period of time for an affordable price. Rooms had attached bathrooms including hot water facility. Hostess and others are very friendly and helped us with everything. Got little late to give us the room (about 2.5 hours) Other than that, there were nothing to complain.

The place was excellent. Hard to believe the room we received was in a 3-star hotel. It was better than most 5-star establishments we visited room vise. Although the food selection wasn't too that much, it was well worth the cost.

The current average review rating (3,7) does not reflect the reality in my opinion. We had a family room for one night, and it was very good. The garden is beautiful and the people are very helpful and their hospitality is great. The room did not have mosquito-nets, but if you bring your own they help you installing them. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. I can definitely recommend the Clove Garden

We stayed in a family room which was very beautiful, spacious and clean (no klamboo). Also the garden, the courtyard and the swimming pool are beautiful, surrounded with flowers and plants. The service is truly fantastic. Everybody is so nice. The breakfast was great. The dinner (curry) was also very nice. It is a 10 min ride to the center of Kandy by TukTuk.

Great value for money, food was super cheap but good, as was the breakfast. View from the rooftop restaurant was beautiful and the staff were great, called us a tuk tuk for the early morning train to Ella! Would recommend!

Super friendly and professional staff, the owner speakes very well English and can help you to find the best sightseeing points in the city and travel options to different places. The view from the restaurant is stunning and the food is even better.

The hotel was positioned on the hilltop overlooking Kandy. Facilities were nice but not modern, however, they met expectations for the price paid. The mornings were great – monkeys knocked on my door and I was able to watch families of monkeys play on the balcony. 

The thing to remember in Sri Lanka is you get what you pay for. This is a developing country so hotels in the budget price range are bound to have a few niggles. The hotel itself is nicely situated close to Kandy Viewpoint and it’s a relatively short walk down the hill to the lake and the town beyond. Beautiful room with two beds and a stunning view of city. Prebhet was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. He arranged a tuk tuk to take us down to the town for dinner and bring us home. The breakfast he made the next morning was delicious and plentiful - fresh fruit juice and fruit, tea and coffee, French toast, eggs and toast and jam. I shared this hotel with a fellow backpacker I met locally. It's a good place if you just need a place to sleep. The Wi-Fi is weak on the upper floors, and you have to walk uphill to get to the hotel. However, it has good access to Kandy city center, and I liked being able to walk along the lakeshore. Also, I happened to see an elephant on the way there and was given a ride, so I was very happy.

I had a very pleasant stay at Sharon Inn. The hotel is well located, with panoramic views over Kandy from the rooftop. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are welcoming and professional. The traditional Sri Lankan dinner was excellent - authentic, and well prepared. Nice room, not huge but big enough. Bed was comfy and the best water pressure and lots of real hot water . Not far from the lake as well. The only issue which s out of the hotels control, is a dog next door barks all the time.

Best place to stay with cool climate

The guys that run this hotel are so cute! They have the biggest smile and really look after their guests. The view is lovely and you get to see it from all the rooms, they all have a patio. Breakfast with said view was amazing. Recommended!

It was the perfect place to get away from the new-year-celebration crazy in April, although fireworks could be heard even in this more remote place. They have an awesome swimming pool! We stayed at Tamarind Tree Inn in Kandy, and I absolutely loved it. The owner, Mrs. Tushara, was exceptionally kind and welcoming. The view of the mountains from our room was breathtaking, and everything inside the room was neat and spotless.
