Belvedere Swiss Quality Hotel in Grindelwald

I can't wait to come back soon! Our first visit was for a romantic weekend with my friend, who later became my boyfriend during our stay in 2011. Our second visit was in December 2020 as a couple with our 7-month-old! A lot has changed with the renovation, but we had a wonderful time thanks to the small gestures and thoughtfulness at the hotel. Very child-friendly: the room had a crib, changing mat, humidifier, baby bathtub, etc. The restaurant had a high chair and a children's menu, which they modified for my baby. Very attentive staff, beautiful views, an amazing indoor and outdoor spa for the whole family, an excellent breakfast... and so much more. We had a wonderful time here. Highly recommended if you are visiting Grindelwald.

very good hotel. nice service and nice view

The location was fantastic, and the breakfast was incredibly delicious! However, there were stains on the duvet, which was a bit disappointing. Also, we wanted to dine at the hotel's ground-floor restaurant at 7 PM and had asked the staff to make a reservation for us the day before. But when we arrived, we found out the reservation was made for a different restaurant right next door, not the one we requested. The employee who made the mistake didn't even apologize. Another staff member, who was very apologetic, offered to rebook us for a different time slot. I think if the person who made the error had simply apologized, I would have felt much better. That really left a bad taste in my mouth and was quite a letdown. If only the bed linens were spotless and the apology for the mistake had been handled better, I would have been completely satisfied!

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very friendly staff, great location just five minutes walk from the train station, clean rooms, and excellent service. A small gem. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel! Super close to the train station with fantastic room views. The staff were incredibly friendly and even gave us chocolates when we checked out. They also arranged a car to take us back to the station.

The best hotel in Grindalward. The room was big and modern. The food was great the staff was amazing.
The toilet looks better than in trip.com pictures.

This hotel was very beautiful. The room was spacious and very clean. The view was so beautiful, waking up to the view of Eiger is really something else! One of our favorite things was definitely the spa and wellness area, especially the outdoor hot tub. There is just something special about being in warm water and it being very cold all around you. The steam from the hot water was really relaxing.

The breakfast was really nice too but for CHF 35.- per person is a bit expensive in my opinion.

Overall I can really recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in Grindelwald.☺️

Beautiful hotel , will come back again next time

was nice trip. water was clean, site was extremely incredible. we enjoyed view of Eiger, and the activity of Greendelwalt. All services were kind and food was also good.

The room faces a dreamy hillside, making it more photogenic than many popular spots. While you have to stand in the bathtub to shower, there's a transparent glass partition, so the wet and dry areas are well separated, not as bad as some reviews on Ctrip have suggested. The room itself is quite decent, and the mini-bar is complimentary.

The breakfast was excellent, even including white wine, miso soup, rice, and chili sauce – a treat for Chinese palates!

The hotel spa was also nice, but the soaking tub wasn't very big. Try to go during off-peak hours for a better experience.

The hotel offers a free train station shuttle service; when we left, they even took us to the station in a Bentley… The hotel is actually very close to the train station, about a five-minute walk. However, if you have a lot of luggage, it's best to contact the hotel in advance for a shuttle, as Grindelwald is mountainous with many steep hills to climb.

The hotel restaurant offers different themed set menus daily. The meat fondue, highly recommended by many, was excellent; the broth had no unpleasant taste, and the meat was incredibly fresh. However, the highlight was the unlimited vegetable refills: the juicy zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms were the sweetest and most delicious I've had in Europe – definitely worth trying. Of course, the most amazing restaurant we ate at in town was the one at the Sunstar Hotel, about a ten-minute walk from our hotel (I think its name starts with the letter A). Their cheese fondue had no unpleasant taste and was perfect for beginners; their beef stew and bouillabaisse, among other dishes, were also delicious.

The hotel staff were also very friendly and welcoming; we didn't encounter any of the "discrimination against Asians" mentioned in previous reviews. They even gave us bottled water and chocolate when we left. We'll definitely come back!
