A very warm welcome, warm and helpful. A very clean and spacious room with a beautiful view. A warm welcome at breakfast would be appreciated. The selection and menu offered will make for a great start to the day.

We observed a disagreement between the hotel manager and a guest during our stay. While this incident did not impact our overall experience, we believe there is room for improvement in service quality. The hotel enjoys a strategic and convenient location. However, it would be appreciated if basic amenities such as a toothbrush kit were provided. Additionally, we hope that all guests are treated with equal respect and that service is not influenced by racial differences.

I originally booked a room without a lake view because it was too expensive. However, the exterior was under renovation, and not being able to open the windows was a big problem, so I upgraded to a room with a lake view. The view was nice, but the price was a bit steep 🥲. The restaurant on the first floor was packed; they gave us two vouchers for two drinks, but we didn't go because it was too crowded 😂. I think the hotels in the back row without lake views offer better value; it depends on personal preference.

Hotel des Balances is a beautiful blend of history and modern comfort, right in the heart of Lucerne’s Old Town. The location is unbeatable — you can walk to the Chapel Bridge, Jesuit Church, and plenty of shops and restaurants within minutes. My room was stylish and very clean, with a wonderful view over the river. The historic facade and murals give the hotel real charm, while the interiors feel elegant and well cared for.

Overall, a fantastic hotel if you want charm, comfort, and a prime location in Lucerne. Highly recommended, especially if you can book a river-view room!

The apples at the front desk were very sweet. It's a little walk from the train station, but you'll get used to it. The scenery is beautiful. The restaurant downstairs is excellent; reservations are necessary. It was one of the best Swiss meals I've ever had, and the view was beautiful.

Convenient location, accessible by car but complicated, must enter from the back of the river. Good service staff, smiling, luxurious room, beautifully decorated, beautiful river view, beautiful light in the room, we stayed 3 people, not cramped, the bed is soft and comfortable, it is also a shopping area, shops close early, maybe because it is winter, welcome drink tastes great.

location is great, but if you drag check-in luggages, will have some draggy time with the stoney street and stairs
the amenities could be better, no body lotion and hair conditioner
room size is pretty comfortable
toilet, closet doesn't have bidet but i guess it's not the standard there, prefer bigger water flow for the shower

The hotel is very nice and the rooms are well equipped. Everything is there, also slippers and L'occitane products. The view of the city - if you have a good room - is wonderful. Ah, and the room is very clean !
On the negative side, the bed was uneven, maybe because it was used too much, so sleeping was a bit uncomfortable. Then, the rooms are not so spacious.
For one or two nights, I fully recommend coming here.
I will rather go to a more modern hotel next time because of the uneven mattress.
