Placid Hotel Design & Lifestyle

We really enjoyed our stay at the Placid Hotel. Check-in was smooth and friendly. The hotel is clean and fancy! I opted for the Panorama View room and I think it was worth it! The views were fabulous. We found slippers, bathrobes, coffee and water in the room. I loved the glass door shower parallel to the bed. I think the smaller rooms have an exposed toilet, but it was nice that it came in its own room. The lounge and exercise room are nice. We were only there for one night and didn't get to take advantage of the free bicycles, but I was happy there were available. Would definitely stay here again. It's easy to get to from the airport with public transportation, and I'd recommend that instead of the $80 cab ride!

I was very satisfied with the hotel staff, rooms, equipment, and location. Initially, I read in some reviews that the windows in the rooms cannot be opened, but this is not true. In reality, there is a remote control for the windows, which can be used to open and close them automatically.
I stayed in a room on the 8th floor, which had a very beautiful view over the whole city. Notably, at night this was a nice skyline view.
The room was also very clean, and a small refrigerator can be ordered for free from the hotel staff.
There is also an opportunity to use a free parking space in a closed underground garage. The parking lot is quite small, so pay attention that you don't arrive in a very big SUV, which makes parking underground harder, but not impossible. ;)
The hotel staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, they have an answer to any questions, and they are always available on the spot, even for spontaneous requests.
The hotel is very nicely located, so public transport (tram and bus station Kappeli) is within 3-5 min walk. The tram lines directly go into the city center without changing, which is very convenient.
Additionally, several shopping centers are within a 15 min walk.
I would recommend this hotel very much, and for the next stay in Zurich I will for sure choose it again! :)

The hotel is new. Design and layout is a bit strange. Particularly the bathroom and its layout. The place is new so make up for those strange feelings. Breakfast was very good by Swiss’s standard. Location is a bit off from main attractions.

The location was great as we did not want to stay right in the middle of the city. The free parking was definitely useful for us as we were on a road trip. The room was spacious and nice.

Very good and clean facilities. The hotel is around 20 minutes by tram from the main station and only a 2 minutes walk from the Kappeli tram stop. i loved the furniture which was a refreshing change from the dated furniture from other hotels. The views from the full frame windows was very nice. the bed and the extra bed was very very comfortable. the breakfast was not very extensive but good selection and made a great start to the day. there is a Co-op express store 1 minute away to get some extra water for the room as we got only three bottles. overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Hotel Placid is in an out of the way suburb amongst commercial buildings. Transport is fantastic with lots of buses and easy access to trains, very quick to the city centre.
Our room was very modern with bare concrete walls and ceiling and a painted floor. However internal walls were a tasteful wood and nice thick blue curtains.
Bathroom was part of the room but we'll decorated with full height tiling and a fantastic rainforest shower head with great water flow - very refreshing.
Beds were comfortable with nice clean linen in crisp white. Nice coffee maker in the room and an iPad for information was good. I liked the full height electric opening windows...gave great ventilation to the room.
Hotel is on the upper floors 10 and 11 so nice views over the city.
There is a good small gym on floor 10 with modern equipment and views.
I was lucky to get a very good deal on this room and think it was outstanding for value and comfort for what I paid. Thanks guys for a great experience.

It's not a great location as a tourist that wants to see Zurich as such. But if you got a concert and need to be near the stadium, like me, it was perfect. Everything about my room was amazing, it was modern, well designed, well thought of. The service at reception was very friendly too. Loved this place.

An amazing Building, Great Contemporary Swiss architecture, the rooms having amazing view over the city, a Contemporary Design curating also the small Details, Bathrooms, and finishings are absolutly breathtakening.

The staff is super friendly and very ready to give you any cool tips and advises about the City.

The bar in the groundfloor has a Great Gin and Rhum selection. Definitely a fantastic experience next time for sure Placid Hotel Again and again! And please don't forget to enjoy the interaction with the amazing automized smart window technology of your room!

A cozy business hotel, easily accessible via public transportation. There’s a supermarket within walking distance from the hotel. Only awkward moment in the room- transparent bathroom, less appropriate for conservative friends/ couples bunking together.

Amazing place to stay. Very creative rooms considering how much they pack into a single room. Also the bar downstairs has amazing food and the service is wonderful. Recommend staying here as it is close to transport and easy to access everything.
