Disappointing small, basic but clean room. To take in the view one has to sit on the balcony and look past other guests/balconies. Deceptive description unless you read the fine print how the lovely man pointed out whilst checking us in. The worst thing about this place though is the noise. The traffic noise is intense and some humming noise that came from a big motor, maybe an aircon, as it turned on and off constantly day and night, not sure exactly what it is, but it kept us awake most of the night, as it was not only a noise but we could actually FEEL the vibration through our pillows!!! On the second night we were forced to listen to a rock concert until midnight too, and this was on a Thursday. No coffee/tea making facility in the room. No power sockets near the bed. Also, the tap water has a bad taste and there is a terrible sewage smell in the lower corridors. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this place as we wished we had stayed in a different, better establishment and we will certainly choose elsewhere when we next return to beautiful Locarno and so should you if you value your sleep!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The location is absolutely perfect, with easy access to all major attractions — whether you’re walking or using public transportation.

From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions patiently and even gave great tips for things to do around the city. Their warm welcome made a big difference.

Great location near train station, Lake Maggiore, Grand Piazza. Owner opened hotel a year ago and renovations are ongoing. He and staff are very kind and helpful. While our room was small, the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the view sitting on the balcony. Nice breakfast too.

This was a nice hotel right in the middle of town - easy to walk to fron the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room simple but clean and orderly, and the breakfast kept me going until night

This unpretentious hotel is perfect if you're looking for a one-night stay before the foliage train returns, as we did. It's close to the train station and a 5-minute walk from Piazza Grande. Our room's balcony also had a view of the lake (just steps from the hotel). The room was average in size, small but equipped with all the essentials. The bathroom also had everything you need for a short stay and a window. The furnishings were a bit dated, and the bathroom wasn't spotless, but it was a good value considering Locarno isn't exactly a budget city. Late-night check-in is available via a coded safe. The woman we checked out with was very kind and helpful, and expressed interest in our stay and any potential issues (which, however, we didn't encounter). She also offered us discounts for a couple of restaurants and public transportation. Unfortunately, we didn't try breakfast, so I can't comment on it.

Great hotel, worth the money, a basic room but spotless and everything you need. Clean bathroom. Great views over the lake from the balcony. Perfect breakfast with lots of options, and the most friendly and welcoming staff! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Locarno.

Returning to Sardinia after a vacation in beautiful Locarno, I was deeply saddened to leave the "La Rondinella" hotel this morning, where I felt right at home. I agree with all the positive reviews left by other guests. A 2-star hotel with at least 3-star service! 😁! Spacious, comfortable, and above all, spotlessly clean rooms. Very comfortable mattresses and pillows. Authentic and varied breakfast for all tastes. The central lakefront location made for pleasant evenings. What more can I say? I'd return every summer! Thank you for the warm welcome and the wonderful staff who pampered us throughout our entire vacation!

Great hotel with a fantastic location! We stayed for two nights for a concert at the Moon and Stars. The hotel is perfect for that; everything is within easy walking distance, and the view of the lake and the city (4th floor) is beautiful. The breakfast buffet was okay. The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Great value for money.

Basic Hotel with everything you need. I had a single bed room with a nice balcony partly overlooking the lake. Room is basic and dated, but everything works and bed was comfy. You get what you pay for. Breakfast was good and staff very helpfull
