We have stayed at Hotel Stella several times and each time it gets better. This family-run hotel has everything we needed: comfortable room; generous sized bathroom; lovely linens and towels; excellent restaurant with a diverse menu; parking and important for us accommodating for our two dogs. It is now our go-to place in the Locarno area. Thank you!

After a difficult drive over the mountain pass in a storm it was such a great experience to be received with such a warm welcome by the staff at hotel Stella. They provided the comforts needed for a family and had the room ready with a crib for the baby. Great place to stay overlooking lake Maggiore. They also have chargers for electric cars. This is a 3 star hotel but I give them a 5 for their cleanliness, service, friendliness and the view! Many thanks to Hotel Stella in making our stay comfortable.

Positives: Parking on site. They gave us bigger than the room we have booked. Thanks. It was nice room with good view in the morning. Negatives: The breakfast is one of the poorest i have ever seen with a plate of yellow cheese and a plate of sausage.The coffee was terrible. The other food was some creams and yoghurt, some cornflakes.

Chack in dosent speak one word in English but its really good Hotel! The room is big and clean, the price is good, breakfast is pretty rich ( in swiss stantrads), very kind and warm servise.

Wonderful small hotel right on the lake. Hotel provides bicycles and paddle boards. Great service. There are restaurant and roof-top bar on premises. Gelato truck right next to hotel. We'd like to come and stay again.

Giardino Lago is a gem of a hotel - an all-around gem. The location, right on the lake, is peaceful; a truly beautiful setting. The rooms were comfortable and welcoming (with AC). I loved riding the hotel's provided bikes into town - only 9 minutes away. It was perfect! I cam away happy with all my needs met when I stayed there.

Great location and well maintained. The star of the hotel, Philip was expert at his job and made you feel at home. We spoke kindly of both of our grandfathers. Thanks, Philip. Very great dinner... so tasty of very gourmet. I will be back to visit.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Close to train station, beautiful lakeside location, lakeside walk to Locarno or 2 minute train ride whichever you prefer. Excellent accommodation! This is a charming, sweet, exceedingly clean property with lovely sunlit rooms, fantastic lake and pre-alp views, and pleasant staff. The included breakfast was very good and the location wonderful. So happy to have stayed here!

Just loved the light, spacious 50 m2 apartment (an upgrade at no extra costs) with a great 180 degree view on both the lake 'Lago Maggiore' as well as as the mountains. There was an overall very pleasant vibe in the hotel and staff was super friendly. Great hotel, clean and big apartment, perfect food in the restaurant and nice staff. Parking lot in the hotel building. The hotel is located near the train station and a few minutes' walk from the city center and the lake. If we have the opportunity to come to Locarno again, we will definitely stay here again.

La Barca Blu is a hotel on top of Locarno. We arrive by car and there is good parking space in the basement. The Check-In was nice and easy. To be noted is that there is no lift in the hotel. Great location near train station, Lake Maggiore, Grand Piazza. Owner opened hotel a year ago and renovations are ongoing. He and staff are very kind and helpful. While our room was small, the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the view sitting on the balcony. Nice breakfast too.

Returning to Sardinia after a vacation in beautiful Locarno, I was deeply saddened to leave the "La Rondinella" hotel this morning, where I felt right at home. Great hotel with a fantastic location! We stayed for two nights for a concert at the Moon and Stars. The hotel is perfect for that; everything is within easy walking distance, and the view of the lake and the city (4th floor) is beautiful. The breakfast buffet was okay. The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Great value for money.

Romatic Locarno Old Town ristorante, with a delicious menu and great wine selection. The service could be smoother and more rounded, but its still great. Enjoy the Lobster Pasta amongst many things!

The gnocchi with pumpkin were absolutely delicious, i would very much recommend! Nice atmosphere too and the staff seemed to be very nice as well.

Nice restaurant and professional staff (although a bit too "stiff" for my taste). With some food I was delighted (carbonara), with some disappointed (salmon with potatoes and a LOT of butter, far too much). Dessert was a joke... I will give it another try and then I will maybe change my rating. For the moment it feels to me overrated regarding to food they offer.

Had a lovely dinner here. Starters and mains were delicious. Our fish dishes were made on the open grill, and both were very tasty. Outdoor seating on the little plaza is wonderful.

Whenever I'm in Locarno and I have time at the evening, this is the bar l go. For a nice, chilled beer, some Snacks. Friendly staff, nice menu of Draft beer and a HUGE selection of bottled beers. You're not sure? Give it a try. Inside or outside or in the garden, up to you, you won't regret it.

Nice bar, the atmosphere is good and they have a couple bar games such as table football, darts, and pool but you can also borrow a deck of cards from the bartender. They do cocktails but I would recommend trying some beers, since they have a variety of local product as well as well known brands.

The hotel is in a quiet, residential area, a short distance from Locarno centre, but very close to the lake and Minusio train station. The staff are very friendly and professional. The pool and garden area are very relaxing in the afternoons. The Ticino tickets provided by the hotel are great for using public transport - particularly the bus into Locarno or to go to Ascona.

Just a beautiful place!! The rooms are very clean, have everything you need, even a towel rack on the balcony for your pool towels. The staff is wonderful and work very hard. My wife Isa and I spent our 2 weeks vacation in the Tertianum of. Of these two weeks I can only announce positive. Room, food, cleanliness and hotel management was all excellent. A special praise deserves the staff. Absolutely friendly, helpful and competent.

A lovely hotel It was lovely we were upgraded from 2 rooms to a 3 bed with bathroom. It was very hot but each room had a fan. The people were so friendly and lovely. The food was lovely with 10% off dinner - fab!! The car had to be parked in the local parking 5 min walk quite cheap. Fine. I definitely recommend. We stayed one night.

This simple, budget hotel is very good value for money. It is clean and comfortable, if a bit old. The breakfast buffet was also good value for money. The hotel is central, on the main square in Locarno, and close to the lake. Checking in and out was efficient. The hotel also has a restaurant but we didn't eat there.
