A lovely hotel It was lovely we were upgraded from 2 rooms to a 3 bed with bathroom. It was very hot but each room had a fan. The people were so friendly and lovely. The food was lovely with 10% off dinner - fab!! The car had to be parked in the local parking 5 min walk quite cheap. Fine. I definitely recommend. We stayed one night.

This simple, budget hotel is very good value for money. It is clean and comfortable, if a bit old. The breakfast buffet was also good value for money. The hotel is central, on the main square in Locarno, and close to the lake. Checking in and out was efficient. The hotel also has a restaurant but we didn't eat there.

We have stayed at Hotel Stella several times and each time it gets better. This family-run hotel has everything we needed: comfortable room; generous sized bathroom; lovely linens and towels; excellent restaurant with a diverse menu; parking and important for us accommodating for our two dogs. It is now our go-to place in the Locarno area. Thank you!

After a difficult drive over the mountain pass in a storm it was such a great experience to be received with such a warm welcome by the staff at hotel Stella. They provided the comforts needed for a family and had the room ready with a crib for the baby. Great place to stay overlooking lake Maggiore. They also have chargers for electric cars. This is a 3 star hotel but I give them a 5 for their cleanliness, service, friendliness and the view! Many thanks to Hotel Stella in making our stay comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly. The room was lovely and simple with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was good. The location between Ascona and Locarno was excellent. The Ticino Card allows free use of public transport. The pool area was spacious with comfortable sun loungers.

Very spacious room with bathroom , fridge, safe (didn't work) and balcony. Breakfast was acceptable. The only elevator is very small. Nothing special in the area. To reach the lake you have to walk half an hour.

We stayed in Nessi last weekend. We were supposed to leave on Sunday. But then there was the hail storm on Friday evening....we were forced to stay longer due to our car being damaged. The staff was great and rebooked us to an other room. All of you were very understanding but I'd like to single out Alice and Sophie, as we had the most contact with these two ladies. Does the trick. Pool is a nice refreshing every evening. Rooms made noises we could not explain (pool pump ran through the night?) Decor a bit "cold", and bathroom had the shower head mounted on chest height (this is common for Italian hotels, to be fair, but annoying for any North European)

Positives: Parking on site. They gave us bigger than the room we have booked. Thanks. It was nice room with good view in the morning. Negatives: The breakfast is one of the poorest i have ever seen with a plate of yellow cheese and a plate of sausage.The coffee was terrible. The other food was some creams and yoghurt, some cornflakes.

We spent three nights at this hotel and everything was perfect! The pool is lovely, the breakfast was varied and delicious, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The staff are truly wonderful, always smiling and attentive. A beautiful and relaxing break – I highly recommend this hotel! 😊

Located just outside of Locarno, this is the perfect hotel for a Ticino vacation. A friendly welcome, clean rooms, and a breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. The pool with loungers is another plus. I would happily recommend it.

We stayed here over New Year's and booked half-board. The welcome at reception was very warm. On New Year's Day, we were offered a generous lunch buffet. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The rooms were very nice and clean, huge balcony, nice indoor swimming pool. The garden was amazing and the food was great. We were with a baby so we really enjoyed the calmness of the space and lack of loud music or drunk people. I really like the idea of connecting home for elderly people with hotel, I think for parents with small baby it was perfect.

Just loved the light, spacious 50 m2 apartment (an upgrade at no extra costs) with a great 180 degree view on both the lake 'Lago Maggiore' as well as as the mountains. The hotel is geared towards elderly as it is also a home for the aged, something that should have been cleared on their side, also with third party travel agents. It should have been placed also in the decription, so as not to surprise the guests. The reception is also not always open (which is not typical for a ‘hotel’). But the staff are nice and accommodating.

Great hotel, clean and big apartment, perfect food in the restaurant and nice staff. Parking lot in the hotel building. The hotel is located near the train station and a few minutes' walk from the city center and the lake. If we have the opportunity to come to Locarno again, we will definitely stay here again.

I have a room with adjoining rooms for 3 pax. The room is clean and has basic amenities. The location is good - center and easy walking distance to places of interest... And just across the station. Breakfast spread was standard but good.

This is a fantastic friendly hotel, location is ideal for train station. Rooms have air conditioning, breakfast is wonderful, croissants, eggs, bread and cheese. Cereals juice and coffee. Absolutely perfect for our short stay. I doubt you will find a nicer welcome.

We used this hotel only for a night on our northern Italy-Swiss tour. Hotel is in the central location, across the bus/train station and 5 min walk from old town. Rooms are very basic as well the bathroom, but clean. Ask for back side rooms as they're quiet. Breakfast was average, good enough to start a day and keep you fed. The hotel was very clean, and it was great that we had room service every day. Breakfast options were good. It would be good if they consider renovations of rooms as there is no electrical outlet or usb chargers and perhaps new fridges in the rooms. The water in fridges (which were at a fee) were just a little better than the room tempreature.

Very good location, nice renovated rooms in a classic building. People with light sleep just be aware there is a pub downstairs. Window isolation is not bad though. Otherwise great fun as they have plenty of drinks and beers (gluten-free too)

Romatic Locarno Old Town ristorante, with a delicious menu and great wine selection. The service could be smoother and more rounded, but its still great. Enjoy the Lobster Pasta amongst many things!

The location is very good, 3 minutes from the Piazza Grande, on a street in the old town that is not as glamorous and trendy as other locations in Locarno. I stayed in a single room – perfect for spending the night, everything was in perfect shape. The breakfast was delicious.

Nice restaurant and professional staff (although a bit too "stiff" for my taste). With some food I was delighted (carbonara), with some disappointed (salmon with potatoes and a LOT of butter, far too much). Dessert was a joke... I will give it another try and then I will maybe change my rating. For the moment it feels to me overrated regarding to food they offer.

Great spot for a family. The spacious superior room is well priced and beside the regular equipment has a small kitchen and fridge. We've been to this wonderful place many times, in every season, and it always feels like coming home. Even our dog feels right at home. A very lovingly run small hotel with a fantastic view over Lake Maggiore. The hosts are very friendly, helpful, and do everything to make you feel at home. Our dog was also very welcome. This restaurant is different from others. It only offers a few small tables. In the back there are two huge tables where you can sit. It's somehow linked with the wine maker Delea. So it offers the full range of their wine, among other wines from Ticino. We both had the entrecote with café de Paris. It was tender and made to the point, rare-medium. Unfortunately it remains on very hot heating plates...
