Hotels with beach in Tanzania

I’dve rated this place 5/5 if it wasn’t for the terrible sound of a constant PNEUMATIC HAMMER, from a next door construction, that starts at 8:35-45 am (everyday! but Sunday) and finished after 3pm (we always left at 3 pm to the beach so I’m not sure of the exact hour)

It is extremely inconvenient because it wakes you up in the morning and then you can’t peacefully spend your time by the pool when the sun is too strong to be on the beach

You can walk to the beach and the center of the village in 8-9 minutes, but the road is very dusty and broken

A wonderful place, very cozy and in a great location. A fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful team who made my stay unforgettable

15mins on foot to the beach I’d recommend the place but make sure the construction is finished

it was a nice place especially the bar and restaurants where we had fun and met new local friends. Big screen for football games darts and pool table kept connecting us and making new memories

The grounds are lush with well planted trees and shrubs. The main pool area is quite large and beautifully landscaped. They could use a few more loungers. The second smaller pool overlooks the beach

There is food/drink service at both. The beach at the hotel is not a swimming beach. To compensate for that the resort also offers a shuttle service to a nearby beach three times a day

A beautiful hotel, the room was incredible, the pool was very nice, the only drawback is that it doesn't have a beach, because the water inside the hotel isn't pretty

They take you to and from the beach, but it's still worth it, staying there for two or three days and going on excursions

Nice hotel but the beach is terrible. People are hospitable

Very good hotel, full of privacy and comfort. The hotel has a super good swimming pool and a large space. You can swim and dine in the hotel. There are different programs every night, singing and dancing, etc

  The rooms are spacious and kept very clean, and the bathroom is modern. Everything was cleaned thoroughly every day, and fresh towels were provided upon request. The air conditioning works perfectly and is very quiet

I spent the last two weeks at the Kivuli Beach Resort and I already miss the incredibly beautiful time I had there. I was welcomed like a friend and felt very much at home

The beds were prepared for the night. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. They prepared local dishes for us on request, and once we were even allowed to watch the chef and were introduced to the local cuisine

The entire staff was very attentive and friendly; every wish was fulfilled whenever possible. The grounds are guarded by Maasai, who provide a sense of security day and night

The resort has a very natural feel; the old trees have been preserved, providing shade, and the sound of the wind blowing through the branches creates a soothing rustle

Sunsets, pole pole, perfect beach, chill vibes, fresh food from the trees and the sea. Everything you need or want to be happy is right in front of you here. Grab a kayak and spend the day in the mangroves

We are staying in Paje and came here to watch the sunset and discovered this amazing resort right on the beach so we decided to have diner and stay for the night and enjoy all the facilities

All the staff is so nice they even went out in the village to get us some personal items since we didn’t plan to stay. The restaurant, the bar and the pool are right in front of the beach

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Great stay!** Wonderful hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and a relaxing atmosphere. Everything was well organized and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Would happily come back!

Rooms are very clean and spacious and have A/C and all face the ocean. We will definitely come back to see Shirley and her staff next time we come in Zanzibar 🤩 🏝️ I highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She called at the airport and managed the transport of our stuff to our location wich went very well. The rooms have been cleaned every day perfectly by the lovely housekeeping-ladys

We spent 9 wonderful days in the Mandarin Resort. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and the beach is a dream

I stayed at Mandarin Hotel for 20 days for business. The food, rooms, and location of the hotel are very good. It is a very good choice for a seaside and quiet holiday. There is music and entertainment at night

We are visit the hotel in October for one week. The rooms is very clean, staff was absolutely very nice and they always smile. The animation team also very good. Cocktails very nice mandarin Cocktail very delicious

Most importantly, the staff is very friendly

The room is very big and the electrical appliances are Chinese brands! The beach is right at the door, so it's convenient to go out to the sea. The hotel has three swimming pools and the children had a lot of fun

The price/performance ratio is good for an all-inclusive hotel in Zanzibar. The beach outside the hotel is very beautiful. The sunset is super beautiful. I spent three nights happily.

If you like the local style, this hotel is the best among the hotels and is highly recommended. Because it is right by the sea, there will be crows as your companions during the open breakfast

It's very convenient to go to Stone Town, just a few steps away

Very ok, I will carry your luggage for you throughout the trip

If you are afraid, just sit under the eaves!

The hotel is very nice but is starting to look a little tired in places. The swimming pool and beach are lovely and it's a very relaxing place to be. The food I'm afraid is not good

My friend and I arrived mid morning and we had left Arusha very early in the morning so we needed coffee and something to eat. We were given a cup of instant coffee, dried bread and a couple of stale croissants

At $110 dollars for two it's quite expensive but we were on the half board basis so we each had $35 dollars towards our meal. The seafood platter was ok but overcooked and it should have been fabulous

That evening we went to the pier restaurant and it is so lovely there but the food lets it down. It was my friend's birthday and the owner of the hotel suggested we have the seafood platter

not a good start! At lunchtime we decided to share a pizza. It was a shop bought pizza and I don't have a problem with that but this pizza was awful

The next day we went back to this restaurant and we ordered two different seafood main meals but they didn't have it

The jetty bar and the private beach area are so perfect! Especially having drinks out on the Jetty. The pool is huge and relaxing.

We stayed for six nights over Christmas and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel safe and truly at home

Amazing people, the personal are always happy, and helpful and very kind. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable bed. Amazing beach. Good, tasty food. We had a wonderful time! Thank you for everyone 🙂

We enjoyed the pool, the beach, the good food, and especially how the team made Christmas Eve extra special—it felt more like a celebration with friends than a hotel event

Also see between the beach and shore line there are rocks and dead coral which also can make it not ideal for people with mobility issues

Some beach sellers - not many - and they're not too bad at taking no for an answer

Hors Piste arranged for our extended family to stay at Jambiani Villas at the end of our safari--what a great plan! Our beachfront villa had a pool, was immaculately clean, and was well maintained with air conditioned bed rooms

The staff served with efficient kindness, and the food was wonderful. The younger members of our family found fun excursions from beach front vendors. One of our two top favorites of lodging in Tanzania

Jambiani villa ( Kusini) is a beautiful 3 bed villa on the jambiani beach , which is situtated on the southeren side of Zanzibar , its calm and oeacful there ideal for families .

The property was exactly as described, on the beach, clean, peaceful and with amazing staff

Moreover, hotel service is professional, helpful and fiendly, manager constantly collects feedback from guests. We can sincerely recommend the private BBQ, which provides delicious food and an unique atmosphere

Great peaceful clean basec quality based place with customer focus people actiocal location for away from noise and directly to the ocean. Lovely people good technical standard that's quite important

The food was not extraordinary, but it was good, the rooms were clean, close to the beach, I recommend this hotel, we liked it, it is very quiet, perfect for relaxation. The water in the pool is clean

The hotel opens directly onto a public beach, frequented by locals, including beach boys and Masai selling excursions or souvenirs

There are a few locals on the beach, they don't bother

The staff was exceptional—always kind, attentive, and smiling. While they maintained a relaxed demeanor, they worked tirelessly, particularly during the New Year’s Eve celebrations, which were a highlight of our stay

We stayed in room B3 on the ground floor and were impressed by the cleanliness and care provided by the housekeeping staff, who visited twice daily—once in the morning and once in the evening around dinnertime

We opted for the all-inclusive package, which included breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, as well as unlimited access to cocktails, soft drinks, and water throughout the day

Aircon is fine on grid power but off on hotel generator system. Sunbeds comfy……I’m on one now. Bar is good as is restaurant…. /although the menu could be improved for fussy eaters like me. Need on catamaran this morning

Beach has sellers on it that can be annoying but firm for two days and that stopped any hassle. The new hotel being built next door was sometimes noisy……but not Waridi’s fault

The staff and I mean all the staff whether at the reception, restaurant, bar, pool, beach, spa, housekeeping or maintenance are very polite, friendly, cheerful and very helpful

This is Africa and this is an African hotel. Not everything is going to be perfect…. but this is our third time in Zanzibar and it is a great place to relax

As a solo traveller, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect retreat. The peaceful surroundings, gentle ocean breeze, and quiet beaches made it an ideal place to relax

The beach was nice, but unfortunately, it was impossible to go swimming in the sea because local merchants stood right behind the resort beach and intrusively offered their products and excursions, and they were not tolerant even when you politely told them you were not interested

We stayed in Bungalow 6 with our two kids. This is a beach resort experience like no other. If you truly want to stop and connect with nature Chume Island is can’t miss

Our trip was a fantastic journey into wilderness and pure nature. We had spend a wonderful week with great outdoor activities and exploring the whole island. The staff was very welcoming and warmhearted

I recommend skipping the forest walk as it's not really anything substantial. Instead beach combing is a great idea. The snorkelling was truly awesome

We enjoyed snorkeling, tidal walks, forest trails, crab walks and a lot more while learning more about ecological subjects. The cabins were very comfortable and the food was also absolutely delicous!

Tropical paradise with awesome snorkeling, monstrous crabs, and beautiful birds. A day trip is possible, but definitely stay overnight, if only for the Coconut Crab walking tour

Chombe is a little bit of heaven! I don't know where to begin in my praise for the charming staff, delicious food, interesting activities (Thankyou so much J2) and idyllic setting. A really magical experience.

Tucked away, secluded and relaxing. Rooms with amazing views. Good food, private beach, quiet and serenity.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. One of the few places that felt human. The service was so warm and friendly unlike many of the other places I've stayed in Zanzibar. So charming, peaceful and beautiful

The Villa Fleur de Lys warmly welcomed us and our 20 friends for our wedding overseas. You will be stunned the first time you crossed the door and see the great view the villa offers you

The place is sooo nice and cozy. We attended friend's wedding here last June and it was amazing. The place is nice and clean and the staffs were all smiling and greet you all time

Wonderful beachfront stay in Pwani Michangani! We were very well taken care of by Mawa and the rest of the staff! Will return for sure!

Looks like a dream and with prices in the lover end. Hakuna matata is words people live by here and the service does aswell. Super helpful people working here, and they're willing to do anything to help you

Downside: the restaurant, which had high prices for the quality of the food, the location is far from the closest village and you need to drive there. Overall I'd say it's a good place to stay

Upside: very good value for money, great views from the pool and restaurant, the staff is very friendly and willing to help. The rooms: size, equipment and cleanliness is just ok

But now we're all just hakunaing our tatas and it works just fine! Very beautiful and comfortable place to be 🧘‍♂️✌️

But they take their time and they everything happens in a slow tempo which we had to get used to in the beginning

This resort is really comfortable clean and well maintained grounds and pool. Ocean view and many activities along the beach. Onsite restaurant, bar, massage and beach access with chairs & towels

Review of Wasabi, Restaurant inside the Cristal Resort, I confirm my previous review, perfect location in Paje, beautiful private beach, simple resort, nice environment, however it is a bit sad, no atmosphere, no music, staff not particularly welcoming

Great friendly staff and accomdating

I wholeheartedly recommend the Cristal Resort in Zanzibar for an enchanting escape. Nestled amid stunning surroundings, this resort offers a unique blend of elegance and comfort

on Thursday they have great beach show and party call Pamoja Festival and guests of the hotel has free entry. Was an amazing event with local and international taste. I definitely will return Cristal hotel again

One of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. White sand between coconut trees and amazing tourquize colors of the Indian Ocean. Very good Asiatic menue, and most importantly lovely welcoming team

People are so kind and helpful, always smiling and spreading positive energy. Everyday we had something delicious. Soups were my favourite! A Lot of salads and yummy drinks. I want to come back soon again!

Pina Coladas on the beach... Amazing!

Everything about this resort was great, accommodation was very good, big room, with a great shower / bathroom. The food was good, enjoyed the different culture food every night

Rooms clean and comfy - basic, but what more do you need? It's a beach resort with great weather, so I was only in the room to sleep and shower anyway! Our room was very spacious too

So you may need to wait a little to get checked in (or get help in general) but don't worry, you will be attended to very soon

Cleaned daily including mopping of floors. Fresh bath towels will be provided if you leave used towel on the floor, and it seems towels are changed regardless on weekends

A beautiful place tropical garden well looked after, excellent food especially the dinners reception staff very good Nice (the receptionist) collected aloe Vera for my sun burn generally all the staff are very friendly, wonderful massage, enjoyed walking into the village and beach and to top it all we went on the early morning trip and swam with the dolphins 😀Thank you xx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful! Heads up: the beach had a lot of sea urchins in January. There were some local youths that showed us safe passage and starfish, sea spiders, lionfish, etc

right there on our beach for a small fee. For swimming the hotel pool was beautiful. The food in the hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and good

The hotel is directly located on a sandy white quite beach which felt more like a private one with sun beds

The Dinner Menu options on the other hand was excellent that we did not have to go elsewhere for a proper hot meal, we all enjoyed the different options offered every day

Hakuna Majiwe is a safe, clean, and well-maintained location, offering a pleasant living environment

We all enjoyed walking along the peaceful and beautiful beach only 10 minutes walk from the busy Jambiani where you can find bars if you’re looking for a fun night

The room is very comfortable and spacious, with a choice between air conditioning or a ceiling fan. There's also a gym overlooking the pool, and a games area (pool, foosball, etc. ) – everything you need to relax

We loved having a 3 bedroom suite with a living area and private baths for all. So nice to be all together yet in our own space, The food was good and the service was too! Unfortunately the property isn't licensed

Uroa is truly a pleasant area for disconnecting, and the Sunny Palm is fantastic, offering both the villa's private pool and the communal infinity pool with breathtaking sea views

Amazing location in a chilled beach, lots of spots around to chill, lots of green, good food and excellent breakfast, hot shower, rustic clean rooms with daily housekeeping, hammocks, sand all around without concrete, which is amazing because you really feel you live on the beach

we loved the amazing ocean view, our room, the kindness and care of the staff (also our animal friends), breakfast on the beach and tuesday night party - food and music were so good!! we enjoyed our stay lots and highly recommend it 🤗 asante sana

Our room was extremely dark, and the floor was no straight at all. So much that one side of the bed was 10 cm higher was than the other side. When you are 2 people in the bed. Beach vibe and outside was nice

An incredibly well-managed and cosy corner of the island. Claudia and the rest of the staff make you feel incredibly well during your stay, leaving you space but always being present and available with a nice vibe

The lunch and dinners were constantly changing, offering mostly local dishes, always well-made, but also a couple options for someone looking for a more westerner break from the curries and fish of the island
