We did a day trip to see the red monkeys then onto prison island then stone town. We had a massage in hotel which was really nice plus they have a lovely boutique shop which I purchased a gorgeous handbag

Dhow Inn is the epitome of a great hotel right on tbe beach. Cool calm colours, top service and amazing pools. Its very relaxed without that big plastic resort feel. 10 out of 10!

The Dhow Inn is the most relaxing place. Rooms are perfect, beds so comfortable. You have shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in your room plus water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk daily

Staff super friendly, drinks amazing and food superb. As we are in low season the food is al a carte as low occupancy. The portions are huge!!! The pools are fantastic, beach is lovely also

i spent 15 nights at this hotel the location was on point as i wanted a beach hotel but wanted to engage with the local people at the same time

An acrobatic show came to the hotel, amazing! The weather is a gamble this time of year! We had a couple of showers but we have had glorious sunshine, super hot. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat

Amazing resort, perfect for relaxing and the friendliest staff with the F&B team going above and beyond. We had a lovely private dinner on the beach on our last night which was a perfect end to an unbelievable stay

The food was outstanding — fresh seafood, delicious local dishes, and great selection of fresh squeezed juices for breakfast. Every meal was beautifully presented and full of flavor and local spices

I had an exceptional experience at Tikitam Palms. The location was perfect and the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious

Fabulous place, with wonderfully kind staff. The garden is a paradise on earth, with various animals. Unlike Kenya, there are no thieves here, the birds and monkeys are completely peaceful

Unfortunately it is rocky, not sandy, the tide is high and a lot of seaweed washes onto the shore, which they try to clean up with little success. But this is not the hotel's fault

My only regret is that I only had time for one night so I plan to return some day soon as I long for a sun lounger on a quiet beach with a drink in my hand

You cannot have more than this. Excellent position, quiet, large rooms well equipped, with lovely forniture, rooms are resetted twice a day. Cuisine is fantastic, menu change everyday with International and local dishes

The location and the beach is stunning, the rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, the restaurant has an excellent menu. I highly recommend! And I also loved the spa!

Wonderful Boutique Hotel with a nearby 'sister' hotel. We took the half board plan (breakfast and dinner) and at lunch dined at some of the other near by resorts

The employees were extremely friendly and helpful everyday. The food was quite good at both resorts. The intimacy of this resort was great. Beach has some of the finest, softest white sand we've ever walked on

Everything was wonderful, starting with impeccable service, staff is so attentive and make you feel so welcome

It is well run, the staff are all happy and delivering a great service, the managers are here everyday to make sure things run smoothly and the two restaurants of the hotel had more than enough choices of delicious food for you to just stay within the beautiful premises of the resort

There are two options for dining, the main dining central to the bungalows and a beach bar. Both of which are superb! Outstanding all round and would highly recommend to all visiting Zanzibar

We spent a week at Mvuvi for my husband’s birthday in October and we had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful place. It was a real boutique experience and you could see that it is a family business

Kiwengwa bungalows is a superb, homely, clean resort on an absolute stunning beach. The staff are phenomenal and cannot help you enough. They are really attentive and they do it with the biggest smiles on their faces

The fact that they had their own secure beach entry without being directly on the beach front. the beach bar/restaurant was well stocked with good food and drinks. The Resort restaurant was really good as well

Absolutely adorable and unfussy place on the beach perfect for sunrise! I love the clean and spacious room that feel boutique and personal instead of mass produced. The service is top notch and the friendliest ever

My friend and I went for a girls trip to Zanzibar and we stayed at Amani for a few nights. The hotel itself was beautiful, serene and directly on the Paje beachfront. The sunrises were absolutely stunning

The highlight of our stay here was the staff - they were so friendly and had an eye for detail. They knew us by name and made us feel very comfortable (being 2 females traveling alone)

Since the hotel has only 14 rooms and is adults only, it is very calm. Always space on the private beach with sun-beds. You can only book half board, including breakfast and dinner

The beach was covered with a lot of seaweed , but this is nature. At low tide, you can walk very far into the ocean. We discovered a lot of sea life in the shallow waters in front of the hotel

Lovely hotel in fabulous location. Downside building work outside hotel so early wake up call at 7am every day. Hotel bar closes really early so nothing much to do at night also service slow at the beach

We stayed in Amani for one week and really loved the hotel. If you are looking for entertainment or nightlife Amani is not the place to stay, but if you look for a place to relax and disconnect, this is the right place

Absolutely amazing in every respect. The location a few steps from a beautiful unspoilt beach cannot be bettered. The banda accommodation is first class

The welcome from Ashok, Nalini , Happiness and all of the staff wonderful. We stayed for 6 nights and wish it could have been longer. Such an amazing relaxed atmosphere. Highlight has to be the amazing food

The garden feels like a tropical oasis, and the beach is just a few steps away with clean sand and a stunning ocean view. Rooms are clean, and the staff is very kind and friendly

Situated close to the beach they had their own dhow. We took a trip with it to Mnemba and saw many dolphins and we did some nice snorkeling

Flame Tree Cottage is a very nice family location. The service was great, we enjoyed the people, the food was OK. Rooms where beautiful en clean. Nice swimming pool and direct access to the beach

March was not a busy period so the hotel was basically empty. This place is right at the oceanside. The owner has an old authentic boat. It's vclasdic! And you can hire it

The perfect relax and re-coup! Loved our stay at Villa Kiva. Great location, fab beach, nice restaurant and comfy rooms. Varied menu with lots of Zanzibari and international food to cater for all tastes

The beach hakwers can be a bit annoying to it's good Villa Kiva have some private raised beach beds and loungers within the hotel where the hawkers can't go so it's peaceful, as well as their garden loungers and pools

It was an incredible experience! We stayed for seven days and loved everything. The hotel's location is perfect, right in front of the beach and very close to the north of the island

We enjoyed the yoga classes and I booked a massage too which was really good. Our room was well appointed with a beach view - it all felt private and relaxed

We throughly enjoyed staying at Upendo. It is cozy with suites as well as multi-bedroom house, right in front of the beach and the famous "The Rock" restaurant

It has privacy, coziness, good and attentive service by staffs, as well as good restaurant, cafe and bar. Needless to say, it enjoyed beautiful view of Indian Ocean right in front

We did the full board - breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious and with so many options you didn't have to double up. But we did - because some of us just loved the banana pancakes, others the Benedict

We had a spectacular family dinner with live music on Christmas Eve at the restaurant which was a few paces from our villa. We had the option to eat in our villa or at the restaurant - both were perfect

Geoffrey, Teo and Cladia (I'm certain I've misspelled names here) were constantly available to us and brought us whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted

My second time here and this time with an ocean view room. The place has a great vibe and is by the beach. Nice secluded pool. Very quiet at night. Large rooms with all facilities. Great food. Absolutely love it.

We visited the restaurant following a recommendation made by Ben. This place is stunning! We had the beat time eating a light lunch on day beds facing the beautiful ocean and Paje beach. I highly recommend this place

Arya is a cute smallish resort in Kiwenga, in a part that seems to be dominated by Italian investors. Rooms are cosy, beautiful, clean. Staff is very friendly and honest

The people and the service are amazing ! We booked all the outside excursions through the hotel and it is highly recommended to do so! It is a Couple of steps away from the beach

They have a deal with local owner on the beach, where you get a free loungers for the day… The beach itself is pretty and there are much less beach boys comparing to Nungwi

Fantastic place, a few steps from the beautiful beach. Owner is absolutely fabulous, helps with anything you need from the start to the end of your stay

Owner Laura was fantastic in welcoming us and arranged a wonderful surprise for us. The pool was warm and inviting. Breakfast is not on par with European (italian) breakfasts, however better than most others in Tanzania

There’s not a lot of food around, so my friend and I walked ten minutes down the beach to Waikiki Hotel for dinner on two different occasions

Great value for the money spent. The rooms are huge and the beach cannot be beat

Surfescape is the best surfhouse in Zanzibar hands down. The place is very chilled, personnel super friendly, room is spacious and cleaned every day. The watersport has great instructors and the kite spot just amazing

If you walk out of the gates of the hotel, and head 5 minutes to the right, there is a small stand where you can buy water and snacks for a portion of the cost that Surfscape charges

Hotel shares bar/restaurant/ pool with Coral Reef Resort (1 min away) Just a bit disappointed about the water sport options. Apart from kite surfing nothing else

Kipepeo Lodge on Zanzibar beach has unique position and its own personal - great chef, girls for cleaning, gardener and night guard, all were great, very kind and helpful.

A great place with great people. The villa has 5 bedrooms so my family fit in well. Some updating of the house may change the ambiance!
