Zenobia Beach Resort Hotel in Nungwi

I stayed at this hotel for one day, but that was enough to evaluate the service. My impressions were good, but there were some niggles. The hotel is available via WhatsApp, which is good. If you need a transfer from the airport to the hotel, they can arrange it for $40. They will answer questions, although not immediately, but they do respond. Unfortunately, late check-in and check-out are common on the island. There is no designated place to change and go for a swim in the sea while waiting for your room. There is also no shower after swimming. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off the salt water and a toilet where you can change. Overall, it's tolerable. The location is nice, and you can enjoy a beautiful sunset, but the crowded courtyard on the beach and the constant questions of "Where are you from? Where are you going?" are downright annoying. You can't lie down quietly, sunbathe on the sand, or swim (get away from the pushy people and salespeople). There are sun loungers on the hotel grounds, but they are usually booked for the entire day. The food isn't amazing, but overall it's okay. There's a welcome drink—that's nice, too! The plates are chipped, but it doesn't bother anyone, including me. There was some water missing in the room, but it was quickly resolved. Toilet paper and other amenities were missing, but we were told about it. People aren't particularly enthusiastic, but everyone is friendly and calm. I guess that's just how island life is. If you're expecting something wow-worthy based on the photos, don't expect it—be prepared for anything. 😁 Another thing that confused me was the tax payment. The document said $8, but it looks like it was for two people. Since I moved to Stone Town later, the documents said $4, but I only paid $2 because I was alone. I didn't know and didn't ask about this at reception... It's an unpleasant aftertaste, so let it be as per the tips. Be careful when checking in and ask for all the details!
