P.D. Beach Resort in Koh Tao Island

Exorbitant price that can only be explained by the location of this establishment because at 86€ per night I must say that we expected something else. No more and no less a bungalow like those I knew when I came to Thailand 30 years ago, except that air conditioning has been installed since but an additional mosquito net would not have been a luxury given the spaces between each slat of the floor. The beach is superb but strewn with rubbish and at sunset jet skis and party boats arrive with music at full blast. Really very disappointed and the photos are misleading. Aging bungalows that for me are not worth more than 30€ per night. Fortunately we are only here for 2 nights....

I have to state that I am not rating the atmosphere and beautiful nature in this place. It is a stunning place, one of the most scenic places I have seen.
What I am rating is the resort itself and especially, the management here and how things are done. The place is very remote and calm and could be a real paradise. Still bungalows are empty, since nothings here is maintained or clean. I am talking high season. Every other place is fully booked!
The huts smell moldy, and so do the beds and the provided towels which are ones forgotten by previous guests (One was "Made in Poland"). The water is brown and the plumbing seems to be broken for a while so the water goes into nature. Don't even ask about the toilet. Also the huts are open to the local wildlife. Spiders, gekkos, you name it. Some of the Bungalows are being eaten by termites or have broken roofs, so rain will come in. The sewage from the toilets is collected in the middle of the "ressort", the overflow goes directly onto the beach. There is a constant flow of smelly, soapy water going into the ocean. So you are basically swimming in your own ****.
Just a bottle of water costs five times the regular price. Cannot judge the food. Didn't eat it.
What I know is that they make large plastic fires to get rid of their waste. The corals in the sea are all dead.
It is very sad how little effort the management shows to maintain this place. Just a few hours of work and a few baht could make a huge difference.
I am writing this review as a last warning to the owner before nobody else will come.
