The Tropical Beach Resort in Chang Island

Absolutely amazing experience! We honestly weren’t planning on coming back to this hotel as it’s quite far away, but everything changed once we went to the bar and met Kong. He is without a doubt one of the nicest bartenders we’ve ever met.

Kong went above and beyond to make sure the service was perfect and made us feel so welcome from the very first visit. Because of his incredible service, friendliness, and genuine kindness, we actually returned for the next two days in a row just to visit the bar again.

He is a massive credit to the hotel and truly made our experience unforgettable. If you’re staying here or even just passing by, the bar is a must-visit — ask for Kong!

A beautiful place. The houses al clean and big. Good bathroom/shower. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is at the neighbour's resort. Breakfast is very good, a lot of choices. Diner is perfect too. The beach is quiet and very clean.

We didn’t have had a night at the resort, we just had couple of drinks at the small beach bar. The guy who is running it, is a legend!! Such a nice and good bartender with a golden soul!!!

The Tropical Beach Resort had made our first visit to Koh Chang everything we had wished for and more.

Although the location is off the beaten track, the immediate beach access and resort amenities were extremely comfortable. The resort offers kayaking, snorkelling, a pool table, massage, a small library, and full bar service -- all with many comfortable places to relax. The complimentary breakfast buffet was fully loaded with delicious options (fresh fruit as my favourite)!

The staff gave us some of the sweetest hospitality treatments we had ever received, as they were very accommodating, kind, and great at helping us get around the island. Will definitely be returning in the future, and cannot wait to.

What a paradise! It is the last hotel in the south. After this hotel is the burned gost ship. Between Tropical beach and the main road you can walk at the beach where there are several restaurants and a bar. You can also get massages at the beach. The restaurants have good quality food and the prices are nice. Everything closes at 22 o'clock. The hotel is clean, very nice and friendly staff, nice breakfast with western and Thai food. The houses are on the beach, it is a paradise! In the evening there is mostly some entertainment, like a BBQ with fire show or live music. We ate here a couple of times and it was good. We loved the curry panang and the spicy salat with shrimps. The bed sleeps very well and the shower / bathroom had so many space, we could easily shower together. If the hotel owner considers any investments, I would recommand soft chairs at the balkony and restaurant and a bigger fridge. But these are details! We just loved this place. Hope you can visit Koh Chang and stay in this hotel 🙏

This resort is at the very end of the resort ***** on the west side of the island. We had a car and navigating here was a bit difficult, it would be a long taxi ride from the ferry pier. The rooms were spacious and exactly as depicted. Everything was clean and our villa was right on the beach. Towels were provided but room cleaning was scarce. They provide a large key lock for the villas which is a bit clunky to maneuver. The breakfast was amazing and the best we had in Thailand. The meals were also good and we ate here a few times. We did a snorkel tour from the hotel which was nice... but instructions weren't clear on how to connect to the Pier and was confusing. I would recommend this for being off the beaten path.

Idyllic resort with a private tropical island feel
We had a wonderful 5 days at The Tropical. Since it’s located at the end of a beach there were fewer people on our beach yet it was close enough to walk to other restaurants and the Bangbao area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even helped us book a private taxi back to Bangkok at half the price other resorts were offering.
While we found our bungalow comfortable, if you want a pristine, modern room you might be disappointed. There were a few ants in the bathroom due to the thatched roof. As long as you keep food out of the bedroom, the ants pretty much stayed in the bathroom. As long as you don’t mind a few ants, it’s well worth it for the peaceful surroundings, the friendly staff and the very good restaurant. With only 27 bungalows you were guaranteed a lounge chair and room to spread out instead of sitting in a crowd of people. The swimming wasn’t the best in front of the hotel due to underwater rocks but if you just walk down the beach a little ways it was fine. If you’re looking for a peaceful slice of paradise, I recommend The Tropical.
