A great location. Yes it's loud but if you get ear plugs, you will be fine. Bangkok is a busy city, so if you want to stay in a great location, you can't expect it to be totally silent. The rooms are basic but clean. We have asked for a kettle, which was not a problem. The breakfast was excellent. Language was a little but of a barrier, however we used Google translate and all language issues were sorted. I would stay again.

Did I just see you stir instant coffee? Yes. Alongside the freeway sits The Myth, with windows and doors that do not seal. Every car and truck can be heard zooming past as the ancient building shakes like an earthquake. Each guest gets a single pillow. A single towel. No front desk attendant. No hot water to shower with. No amenities. And to top it all off, the breakfast only offers the absolutely worst instant coffee you’ve ever tasted. But, if you’re cheap, and comfort and quiet are not your thing, give it a go. We nearly left in the middle of the night. Even with ear plugs the freeway noise was overwhelming. And with a government issued air quality warning, the lack of sealed windows left us exposed for the night to the tragically polluted air. We did leave first thing in the morning for a hotel that felt safe and quiet and it was the best decision we made while in Bangkok.

This is a value hotel. Location is stone throw away from saphan taksin BTS, 5 min walk to the ferry station, 3 min to shopping centre, 5min walk to jok prince (the Micheline porridge), 15min walk to todalay seafood buffet.

Very clean rooms, but toilet can be slippery so be careful. A historic and nostagic building.

Superb breakfast that you can order from the menu. All items are home cooked and delicious. The fried rice and noodles are better than those you eat outside. Banana spring roll is using their home grown banana.

Watsapp their contact if need anything. There will not be a front desk 24/7.

I think this was one of the best boutique hotel/home stay experience we had over here. Perfect location next to the boat pier and the metro station plus loads of restaurants and massage spas at walking distance. BUT what we loved the most is the hospitality provided by the host family, incredible humble and we definitely loved the experience along with the delish breakfast. Keep it up guys! You guys made our trip memorable.

This place is a gem. Its amazing location, right by the train station in a lively neighborhood, ensures convenient commuting and ample exploration opportunities. While the hotel bears the charm of age, it carries a fascinating history. The hospitality is exceptional, being a legacy of a fourth-generation family-run establishment committed to preserving its heritage. Engaging with the delightful owners added a special touch to my stay. Despite its proximity to a busy highway, the well-insulated double-paned windows effectively minimize any disturbance. A solid 10/10 experience; I'm looking forward to returning.

What a spot. Couldn’t recommend this place any more.
Location, location, location.
Right next to the train station for easy commuting as well as a bustling neighbourhood, with plenty of walking around to do.
The hotel it’sself is fairly old but with all that, comes a lot of history.
The hospitality of this hotel is amazing, fourth-generation family run hotel, trying to keep the history alive.
Spent a good time talking to the owners who were lovely.
It does happen to fall next to a highway which is somewhat busy, but very manageable with the double panelling windows. 10/10 will be back

I stayed at "The Myth" in March 2023. I was in Bangkok for a business trip but also spent two weekends exploring the city.

The location of the hotel is great: just a few steps from Saphan Taksin BTS station. There's a mall 200m away, ATMs and 7-Elevens, as well coffee shops and street food. I preferred this location to Asok and NaNa where some of my colleagues were staying.

The hotel itself is an historic building which has been fully refurbished, with taste and style. The room was large and comfortable and clean, and had a fridge, a/c and wifi.

The hotel is really beautiful and historic. Breakfast is served in the courtyard and is wonderful. Plenty, varied and tasty. Most of the greens and fruits are grown in that yard by the owners.

If you arrive at any time but the middle of the night, you might think (I did!) that it would be very noisy, because the hotel is right in front of the BTS and car elevated railway/road, but during the night it's way quieter and it didn't bother me at all.

If you prefer soulless opulence, try any of the international chains of hotels. But if you like charm and taste, to interact with helpful and passionate local people and ... save a few bucks... give it a try!

I often say that I liked a place and would visit again as a compliment only, but here I really mean it! See you on my next trip!

Good hotel with friendly staff and nice manager. Close to the BTS line and river port. The rooms are clean. Beautiful old building. Daily room service. Good wifi. A nice place to stay.
