Romance Hotel Sukhumvit 97 in Bangkok

Pros:
The hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from the BTS, making it very easy to access. I arrived earlier than the posted check-in time and was offered the option to check in early in exchange for a 5-star Google review.
My room met all expectations and was equipped with everything as advertised, providing a fairly comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Cons:
Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected my experience. The lock on the sliding balcony door was broken, and despite notifying reception within an hour of checking in, it wasn’t fixed during my 4-night stay. I was informed that repairs couldn’t be completed until the following day, but the issue was still unresolved when I checked out.
Additionally, one of the main reasons I chose this hotel was due to the gym facilities, which looked excellent in the online photos. However, I encountered several problems during my stay: the air conditioning in the gym wasn’t functioning properly, making it uncomfortably hot, and about 50% of the equipment was out of order, with signs indicating that parts were on the way but had not yet arrived.
Final Thoughts:
While the hotel had many positive aspects, the unresolved maintenance issues were disappointing. If the broken items were repaired and the gym was properly maintained, I would consider staying here again in the future. Unfortunately, my experience this time didn’t meet my expectations.
