Grand Palazzo Hotel in Pattaya

I booked this hotel expecting to arrive at a five-star property, and it was very far from that.

The reception staff didn’t speak English, the room was musty and dusty, with barely two electrical outlets on the wall, both far from the beds. The room is designed as if we went thirty years back in time.

In addition, I specifically requested a balcony for smoking in advance, but after check-in we were told at reception that smoking on the balcony is not allowed.

The service was terrible — this is more of a hostel than a hotel.

Grand Palazzo Pattaya is an absolutely pathetic hotel. They advertise themselves as a 5-star property, but in reality it’s not even close to 2 stars. The service is horrible, the staff is unprofessional, and the entire place feels like a scam operation.

BEWARE: They plant “damaged items” in your room when you’re not there, and then force you to pay fake charges. I personally experienced this — they randomly accused me of breaking a shower gel bottle and tried to charge me 800 Baht for it. Completely ridiculous and clearly a set-up.

They even display a “damage price list” in every room, which tells you everything — they’re prepared to scam guests from the start.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are plenty of better, honest properties in Pattaya. Save your money, your peace of mind, and your trip.

I booked this hotel expecting a true 5-star experience, but unfortunately it was far from it. The staff was not helpful at all, and basic hospitality was missing throughout my stay.

My room had insects, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5-star. Even the toiletries provided were broken or of very poor quality.

On top of that, the hotel charged extra for things that were never mentioned at the time of booking. Some charges were even forced, without any proper explanation. It felt extremely unprofessional and misleading.

Overall, this stay was disappointing and nowhere close to a 5-star standard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and transparent experience.
