Krabi Discovery Resort in Ban Khao Thong

Our experience relates to the standard bungalow room option.

These standard bungalows could be nice, but unfortunately they are not really.
The bedroom of the bungalow smells moldy.
All the textiles such as mattresses, pillows, comforter and sofa also smell of mold.

The mattress is unfortunately so old and worn out that you can feel every spring at night.
It is also stained and yellow. We didn't dare to look at it completely but we saw enough once the bed sheet had slipped up.

There is a private bathroom. After showering, however, the entire room is under water and the water drains off very badly. The drain is not on the side of the shower or in the middle of the room, it is on the opposite side. So, as far away as it can be. It is also very small.
It took several hours for everything to dry off. If you wanted to go to the toilet during this time, your feet were standing in water. Which is quite unpleasant.

We are aware that you can't apply a European standard, and we didn't either.

The fridge and air conditioning are very loud, but both are available and functional.

The grounds as a whole are well-kept and tidy. However, there are some dangerous tripping hazards in front of the standard bungalows. This area is also the most unkempt.

At least the bungalows are close to the pool, which is really nice. Unfortunately, the pool shower was out of order the whole time, there are only four sun loungers and in the early afternoon the pool was regularly besieged by a horde of monkeys.
The animals were a nice change though, as there isn't that much to do in this area.

The hosts were very nice and friendly. They kindly organized the transfer from the airport to the hotel and then to the ferry.
They also took care of a scooter, not cheap but in this area the offer is also very small.
The breakfast on offer is to be recommended.
