The rooms are immaculate and spacious. Staff are friendly and always courteous
The whole slay was excellent, but exemplified by the entire team of outstanding staff. They were all extremely helpful, professional and kind.
Excellent location for airport.
Room too hot
Great room but was soo hot that we couldn’t sleep at night. AC didn’t work and no phone in room.
Only stayed one night so didn’t make a fiss
Very Average hotel, not good and not bad. The guys aren’t briefed it’s an ******* VIP hotel, an ******* traveler is a standard traveler for them. Restaurant service is very average, you need to ask and re-ask again the staff in order to get the service.
The whole hotel is relatively quiet, giving people a sense of security. The breakfast service staff downstairs is very friendly. You can order fried eggs and sometimes beef liver. But there is no place to go around.

Tunis, 10, rue Dar El Jeld (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The food was ok, but it’s a shame they always have just one soup. Overall, the experience feels too dull. The indoor dining area lacks ambiance—aside from the sound of chairs scraping across the floor (they could really use chair leg protectors). The outdoor seating, while lovely in concept, is often too windy and accompanied by loud, nightclub-style music that doesn’t suit a fine dining atmosphere...
The Dar el Jeld is like visiting a fancy aunt's house. My Tunisian friend pointed out the vessels that her grandmother would have used to make rose water or store couscous and I noticed the inclusion of local plants (jasmine, prickly pear) in the decor. It was a delight for the senses and we would have stayed more than the two nights if the hotel wasn't already fully booked. The hotel van pick-up...
Aside from the fact that it's inaccessible by car and there's no parking, there's nothing wrong with it. The hotel is as beautiful as an art gallery. The breakfast isn't extensive, but it's exquisite and delicious. The rooms are enormous; even going to the toilet is a bit tiring. Every turndown service includes delicious fruit and chocolate. The location is right in the middle of the wheat field, making...
Love this hotel. It’s amazing really. Staff so nice and polite. Good food in restaurants.
Suite are amazing. Love it
Dar el Jeld is a gorgeous property with friendly helpful staff. We loved our classic suite where we could really spread out. Just wish we could have stayed longer!!!
Dar El Jeld is an exceptional hotel that perfectly blends authenticity, elegance, and comfort.
The hotel is immaculately clean, and the staff are genuinely kind, attentive and professional.
The spa is a true sanctuary, and the on-site restaurant serves exceptional Tunisian cuisine.
The rooftop restaurant is also worth mentioning, with high-quality, flavorful dishes and stunning views over the medina...

The entertainers were amazing and made my holiday. One of the best entertainers was Foufa as she ran the kids club all day and made it such a fun experience for all ages, as all of my friends ages varied from 3-16. It was one of the best holidays I’ve been on and I would definitely recommend for families and friends. It also has an amazing view and easy access to the beach with lots of water sports...
Very good service and maintenance. I haven't seen a week go by!
I was staying here for one night during my business trip. Hotel was good. I specially like to thank the receptionist Miss Karima for her kind hospitality. I still remember her smily face & ready to help to give information about Tunis city & about Tunisian culture. She was very kind which made my stay in Tunisia Palace much comfortable apart from other nice staff in the night. They were very helping...
The hotel is great and the service is excellent. Especially the front desk staff by the name of Ms.Karima, she is very helpful and know how to comunicate with the quest tactfully and very polite.
I enjoy staying and will come again.
Thanks

amazing place!
I would definitely stay again!
Dar El Medina is such a special place — full of history and right in the middle of the Old Medina. My room had that traditional Tunisian style I love, and the rooftop terrace has an incredible view over the city. Breakfast was amazing. It’s not a buffet, but a big sit-down meal that was so good (and so much food) I usually skipped lunch after. The Wi-Fi worked great and the shower had strong water...
Staff was very helpful, they all spoke English very well too which was convenient. The place is very nice, well maintained, and easy to get around/to the Medina market. We had dinner at the roof top restaurant and the food was delicious.
Memorable wonderful stay in a most unique, quiet and safe property in the historic Medina. Perfect for adventurous travelers, not the Marriott crowd.
Incredibly friendly and attentive staff made the stay simply wonderful. Highly recommend having dinner at the rooftop restaurant as well, and coordinate airport transfer with the hotel to avoid airport taxis.
Enjoy the Medina!
Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience—it’s a true gem, originally a historic home that’s been tastefully transformed into a boutique hotel. The design and ambiance are full of charm and artistic detail. Everything was impeccably clean and carefully maintained. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and refined. The team was both professional and attentive, always ready to help. I’d like to...

The rooms were renovated and super clean. Although the breakfast selection was limited, it was very fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel’s location was safe and very convenient with lots of restaurants, cafes, and shopping places nearby. The bathroom had very strong water pressure and plenty of hot water, making it very comfortable. Since it is a budget hotel...
Staff very polite and professional.
Clean and nice bathroom. Breakfast was delicious too
Simple, clean, good value for money. My 3rd stay and still happy
Good value for money. Rather basic. A bit run down but clean (apart from the table which clearly hasn't been cleaned). A substantial and fairly varied breakfast. When you're on a budget, it's a good solution. I might come back.
It's located near downtown but not too close. Great amenities nearby, like the park, Champion Center, etc. Rooms are small and the food is ok.

A good clean place. Comfortable beds and hot showers. There's even a heater available for colder nights, and a bar fridge to keep cool your goodies.
A bit more on the expensive side though, I feel they could be cheaper.
I enjoyed staying at Hotel Lafayette for my last night in Tunisia. I actually booked another hotel just up the road for the previous night, but it was a bit rough so changed for my last night. Everything was good for me. The room and bed were comfortable, good location - though the state of the streets aren’t great, the staff seemed friendly enough. Oh and there was a large selection of things for...
I booked this place as I was attending an event nearby, overall it was average.
Pro:
The girls at the reception were nice and friendly.
The breakfast was lovely with lots of options.
Great central location, but the rooms need renovation.
We are a group of 3 friends trying to explore Tunisia in holy month of Ramadan.
Area : For us the area is a bit shady as surrounding area has shops that are run down or closed. At night, there will be teenagers loitering in front of hotel entrance which I do not know what they are doing late at night even midnight.
Room : Room was however very clean. The cleaners clean our room every morning so we...

My French is not good. I like this hotel very much. The staff have been very friendly and kind. The breakfast buffet is great.
For the price, the hotel is excellent.
Negative: The street outside is not good. This part of Tunis is rough.

A very nice guesthouse. Great location. When booking, be careful not to confuse it with another guesthouse with a similar name.
Beautiful "dar", very kind and helpful staff, good breakfast, great location in the medina, lovely rooftop.
The hotel is located in the Medina. There are eateries nearby. The hotel itself is very charming. The rooms are clean and the staff are extremely friendly. One inconvenient aspect of the hotel is that you can't open the front door yourself. So, every time you go in or out, you have rely on someone to open the door for you to the hotel itself.
A place of enormous charm, with welcoming helpful staff and a perfect restoration of an old building. I cannot recommend it enough!
Great location if you want to explore the Medina. Furniture and rooms are a bit dated but it’s part of the charm. Staff were friendly at check in.
WiFi only worked near the door of my room.
What an extraordinary place. Perfect location on the edge of the Medina. Beautifully restored, peaceful, comfortable...words cannot do it justice. I stayed 10 days in October 2025 and did not want to leave. The experience is as far as possible from what you'd find in a cookie-cutter big corporate hotel, People who look for things to complain about might find one or two quirks, for example my bathroom...

Rooftop bar with a nice view on the main street of tunis , affordable prices , good service, but gets crowded on the weekend , no real food options more like snacks (pizza and chicken wings) , avoid booking a room and staying at the hotel it's outdated and gets noisy, but the rooftop bar is worth it
Best places to spend the night for short, stay all local shops are around, not too far away from centre of town
Average 3 star hotel near the city center. A good place to crash, but that's all. A train station is nearby from which you can easily reach the coastal towns of Goulette, Carthage and La Marsa.

We stayed in this hotel for five nights, and every night slept very well. The hotel is located in a very busy neighbourhood La Fayette, but our room was silent the whole stay, partly because its windows looked into a courtyard (not a super nice view, honestly). 房间打扫得干净整洁,居住舒适安心,服务人员态度礼貌友好,服务贴心细致,酒店位置优越,出行交通十分便利。各方面都很满意,一次难忘的入住体验。The room was clean and tidy, the staff were polite and friendly, and the location was convenient. It was a truly unforgettable experience.
Everything perfect!! Everything was clean, there was a good temperature, the water was hot enough and the staff helped me to get a taxi to the airport!
It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. Everything is exceptional. Friendly staff, nice rooms and convenient place. I will repeat again when I visit Tunis
I recommend this hotel for a short business trip; it's extremely convenient due to its proximity to restaurants and amenities.

I have a friend in Tunisia who met us and drove us to this hotel. The streets became very narrow and we eventually had to pull over and walk. It's in a busy market area and gives you a really authentic feel of Tunisian life. The front door thick and wooden with an incredible lock led to marble floors and a quaint mezzanine floor where our room was. The room was small compact and exquisitely tasteful...
Wow just wow a beautiful 16th century Riad in the heart of the Medina Tunis. Lovely room with fire place, very comfortable bed, huge bath tub, air con & wifi. Excellent Value. We stayed 3 nights and just loved it. Lovely little breakfast each morning. Super quiet & very safe & we felt right at home. Nour & Hichem were delightful hosts. Can recommend Sam & Craig from Australia 🇦🇺
What a great place to stay! We really loved the place, the fibes and the service. Ignore the bad reviews. I read them and they complained about the fact that there is no access by car. That is true, but that is valid for all locations in the medina. The beds are great and the location can easily be accessed with the help of Google maps. Go here! I wish we did sooner :)
The location was easy to navigate in the Medina. The staff offered to come and meet us to bring us in when a taxi dropped us outside the Medina. The staff was friendly and welcoming offering us a snack when we came in.
The cultural heritage should be valued !
Service was Zero. No cleaning of the room (we spent 4 nights). Towels not renewed. No soap in the bathroom. The plants in the courtyeard are now dry. Very poor breakfast. On the last day we had to ask for bread which the service lady had just to buy! The ambiance is great but all the house does need cleaning and maintainance! There is a lack of responsibility...
This is a really unique boutique hotel in the heart of the medina. Past reviews are correct that it can be a long walk since the middle of the neighborhood isn't accessible by car, but that shouldn't be a concern if you have a map and aren't overpacking. Service as fast and friendly. The hotel arranged an airport taxi, in which the drive takes you door to door including the long walk. There are...

A bit late (our stay was in June), but we had a wonderful week with incredibly attentive, kind, and welcoming hosts. We felt right at home. The house is beautiful and the location is peaceful. The pool is lovely. The grounds are lush, green, and beautifully maintained with flowers. Unforgettable moments, we highly recommend it!
We had a lovely stay at Dar El Yasmine. Helene and Mohamed are great hosts, breakfast was great, the house is beautiful and the neighbourhood is quiet. There are a lot of shops, supermarkets, caffes, restaurants in walking distance. We used Bolt to get to Tunis, Carthage and Sidi Bou Said. Would recomend it to anyone that wants to visit the area.
We had a wonderful stay at Dar El Yasmine! Helene and Mohammed were wonderful hosts from helping us with our taxi from the airport until our departure. The room was wonderful, quiet, even spacious. The entire grounds are lovely. The breakfasts were remarkable! Homemade jams and yogurt complimented delightful pastries and juices. I just finished a wonderful visit to Tunisia made special by a stay at Dar el Yasmine. The place is beautiful and the accommodations very tasteful. Helene went out of her way long before my trip to arrange touring for me. Also Helene and Mohamed were so accommodating and engaging. I will be back!
I'm writing this review quite late, but I really wanted to. We spent two nights last August at Hélène and Mohamed's place. We had a very pleasant stay; they were accommodating with the room, available whenever we needed them, and offered great advice for sightseeing. Amazing little oasis in Tunis. The garden is a work of art in this tough climate. You can see the love and care invested by Helène and Mohamed. Incredible house…. A veritable palace! The interior is decorated with countless museum worthy pieces, and the owner Leila has installed a wonderful museum of tile in the basement. We were thrilled to have lunch with her during our stay. We had a reservation for the Four Seasons later in our trip, but canceled it in favor of returning here!
A beautiful and really welcoming small hotel in the Medina, filled with wonderful things, especially the Tunisian ceramics. Very comfortable rooms, kept spotlessly clean and very friendly and helpful staff. It is a quiet and peaceful place with a terrific roof terrace and dramatic views across the Medina and Tunis beyond. It is a memorable and lovely place to stay, very reasonably priced.
Incredibly warm and helpful staff, and a beautiful space with stunning historic details — especially in the common areas. We liked being so centrally located in the Medina, and the breakfast was generous and delicious.
The location was very good. Close walk to many attractions. The breakfast room and the quality of the breakfast was excellent. Youssef was a great host and helpful to our requests and needs.
A genuine staff with very interesting art throughout the grounds. Very convenient walk to the souk. Fantastic terrace if the weather cooperates. For those unaccustomed to travel in the area, the alleys at night will provide both a sense of adventure and intrigue. Don't let the gritty night walks scare you off.
The hotel is located in the heart of the old city, with an antique atmosphere. You can watch the sunrise and sunset from the rooftop, which is very pleasant. Strolling around the old city, getting around is very convenient, very satisfactory!

Good location, friendly reception and clean rooms. The only reason im not giving 5 stars is room was two separate beds but when we arrived they said they only had a room with one bed so we had to stay in one bed. Breakfast was ok too. If you are gonna spend a few days in tunisia this is a good choice.
The hotel is clean and the service is decent. However, the breakfast could be improved as it's a bit basic. On two occasions, we asked for help and advice on how to get a taxi, and were told to just go out into the street and find one ourselves.
