Annabella Diamond Hotel - All Inclusive in Avsallar

Our holiday was for 7 days. Whilst arriving we had to pay €1 per day for the wifi that's strange as it was advertised it's included. The atmosphere was really weird for the staff and guests maybe because they'd never seen a black person.

Obviously were expecting a lot of stares as the country is predominantly caucasian and west Asian but to receive hardcore racism made us want to stay in our hotel room. We was severely scammed with the staff members selling under the table (wanting us to pay cash in hand towards their activities and products). What is scary is that in the shops downstairs in the hotel there is no price tags so I lighter for example would be €3 when it’s 0.47 cent. The shops wanted everything to be paid within euros and especially with your card, meaning you can’t see the currency conversion.

Online it stays that there are so many facilities included but let me list what you have to pay for. Wi-Fi, evening entertainment (that’s dreadful due to entertainers not being bothered), Spa, Water sports, Games room, Snack bar, Mini golf etc. It’s all false advertisement as you have to pay. This is why people are just laying in the beach all day.

I think you’ve read a few reviews about the food. It’s a buffet that has unseasoned tasteless food Lunch - Dinner. I would recommend going outside as they have universal food like fries and kebab (that’s twice a week). I was so disappointed because how can I go on holiday and the food is nasty. I would say I only enjoyed breakfast. The food is so repetitive. We had to buy food from outside. A member of staff told my friend to cover up when she wearing a vest yet there were other cacusian women wearing sexualised clothing, please bare in mind we are at a beach hotel in a resort by where we are supposed to be safe and have different nationalities. We have respect of dressing when leaving the hotel!

The hotel is very far away from restaurants and shopping centres about an hour and 17 minutes. To go and come back with a taxi is about €30+ it’s insane. The nearest ATM is a 40 minute walk. You don’t feel safe whilst leaving the hotel as you get cat called and also the roads are dangerous. Once you leave the hotel, you get scammed severely as there are no price tags on anything!

I want to say one nice thing. That would be that the cleaner was a lovely lady, and she was the only person who made us feel welcome. She was the only person who was worth a tip.

2 stars for the baclava and the beach! Vile receptionists, indifferent waiters, shabby decor in bedrooms, large displays of food but not much to actually eat, slapdash room cleaning, freezing pool, food only catering for German/Russian/East Europeans, volleyball pitch in the middle of the sunbathing area of the beach, 1€ per device per day for Wifi and 2€ a day for a safe! This is a tired & run down hotel in front of a 6 lane motorway so awful traffic noise 24/7, it’s in the middle of nowhere so nowhere to go for a walk in the evening or do some shopping or go sightseeing plus everyone is in bed by 11pm. First time visiting Turkey and based on the staff and food at this so called “5 star” hotel, we will never go back!
