I was a guest at the Grand Anzac Hotel.
The reservation was due to Mrs. Olivia, who preferred to be called OLI. IT IS A DELIGHT OF THE SOUL. A LADY.
Yes. Mrs. OLI is Romanian.
He has been living in Çanakkale for 25 years. I started the conversation in English and at one point he asked me what country I came from. I told him ROMANIA and I saw how "his face lit up" and with a wonderful smile he said: LET'S TALK IN ROMANIAN LANGUAGE TOO.❤️
My soul was filled with happiness.
I was envious because the employees speak English, German, Russian, sometimes French and Spanish
I was actually preparing to ask about a lady who speaks Romanian (a fact found out from a review).
in the 11 years of traveling in Turkey (in at least 50 5☆ hotels) I have met one more Romanian-speaking person, who is of Turkish origin.
Mrs. OLI is not only an excellent professional but also a WONDERFUL HUMAN.
I could not book the room at ANZAC HOTEL.
I was willing to stay one day, then look for another hotel.
There was no need.
She immediately got on the phone and called the ANZAC GRAND HOTEL and asked her colleagues and lobbied for her "Romanian".
The distance is 80-100 m
I went and after they showed me the room and the parking place, I paid and brought my car.
Period 13-15 November 2025.
Now I'm sorry I didn't stay even one more day.
I FINALLY FOUND THE HOTEL THAT SUITED ME IN ÇANAKKALE.
I kept looking for him. I have also booked other hotels, but this one is perfect.
The room is not big like in 5☆ hotels, but for me it was super good.
And since I DON'T LIE, I can point out that, as far as I'm concerned, the dressing is narrow.
For those who only stay 1 day or 2, it is not a problem.
but if there are more clothes it is a small problem.
And if the double bed was 20 cm smaller, the space would be even more generous.
I RECOMMENDED MY FRIENDS WHO TRAVEL IN TURKEY NOT TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER HOTEL.
Some people were disturbed by the evening noise.
HOWEVER...WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE "NABEL", THE CENTER OF THE CITY OF ÇANAKKALE.
HERE PEOPLE MEET AND HAVE FUN.
"BEWARE OF HOT WATER". HOT 24/24 HOURS.
IT IS NOT WITH THE PROGRAM😁.
Cleaning... EVERY DAY!!!
The room has a fridge, not a cooler!
Breakfast:
For me, good to very good.
and the pochè eggs, prepared on request, were the "icing on the cake".
I think it would be good to have Turkish Coffee or "Americano".
But I don't think anyone could sanction this fact
The manager and his colleagues are VERY PROFESSIONAL, WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!
NOTE 10.
before I left he went with me and introduced me to a pastry shop with some wonderful products.
Maybe I bored you, but I wanted to specify as I would like to find out.
Stars would be 4.8 ☆
THANK YOU ANZAC🙏

Very good stay, breakfast was simple and decent. Loved the front desk service. Room was pretty simple but very nice. Its right in the centre of Canakkale which is GREAT. Right next to an amazing waffle place that was super cheap and delicious too! Ferry was a 2 min walk from hotel. And the Trojan horse was just down the road. Very hard to find parking but they do offer parking for 5 euro. We just parked down in the residential area.

Great place to stay, good sized, clean rooms, clean bathroom and excellent showers. A buffet breakfast with something for all. A great location, step out the door and your a short walk from Brad Pitt's Trojan Horse, shops cafe's eateries and a wonderful walk along the waterfront where you can find a fabulous cafe to sit and watch the world go by. A wonderful hotel.

The hotel is right in the city centre - close to everywhere. You can park the car with them. They park the car for you and keep your keys, but they’re pretty fast with bringing it back when you need it. It is taken only across the road in their private parking area.

The room clean and much bigger than what we expected (we had an extra bed to put our stuff on). But it was full of someone’s hair. It was on the duvet and bedsheets. They all are clearly clean but I think it’s just the cleaners’ hair. The towels and bedsheets were quite old and were torn, but I couldn’t care less as long as they were clean.

If you want a quiet room, this would not be the right choice because it is impossible to escape from the local pubs music (I actually quite enjoyed the live music at night). You can fully hear the neighbours conversations, but the only time it disturbed me was in the morning when children got up for breakfast and were shouting.

We didn’t eat hotel breakfast so cannot comment on that.

Overall, it was an acceptable hotel. You get what you pay. With the location, you can do no better.

Looks nothing like the pictures! Everything is so worn out and dirty, that I was wondering if I would come back healthy after staying there! The mattresses were so old and smelly, looked like somebody's grandma died there. The a/c didn't work, just made very loud noise. It was very hot and stuffy in the room, but when you open the window it was even worse, because the street was noisy and there was a smell of fried food and cigarettes coming in. The bathroom was also not very clean and the toilet was leaking.
When we were about to go out we realized that the door doesn't close. This was the last drop for us, so we decided not to stay at this place. We told the staff at the reception desk about everything and the man so impolitely told us laughingly that he "forgot" to give us a key to the otherwise broken door lock.
Don't get fooled by the pictures, this place is awful!

We stayed one night at this hotel while on a tour of Gallipoli and Troy.
It was a very comfortable place to stay.
Selman in reception was extremely helpful and answered all our questions

Our stay here was only one night, but very disappointed with the quality of the room.
The curtain was too thin so light from car park behind shone through all night. (See photos)
The shower head sprayed all over room when turned on full.
The sheets and doona were too small for the size bed, they could not cover two people ( see photos)
The room was surface clean, but when you looked too close…..( see photos)
Air con remote needed battery pressed in back to get it to work, and then aircon sound like small truck.
Sound from other rooms and outside was loud in room till late at night.
One shining light was staff, very helpful but may I suggest the staff stay in rooms to understand the issues……
Room was booked by tour group, we would not stay in this hotel again.

Great value. Very well located. Excellent staff. Decent food.
It’s not a 5 star hotel so don’t have that expectation and it’s in the centre of town so can be noisy. But it was spot on for what we needed.

As a Kiwi the ANZAC Hotel does not live up to the ANZAC spirit at all. It should change its name. From the very poor concierge service to the crammed room and air con blowing in your face all night. There isn’t one redeeming feature of this hotel that I could recommend to anyone.

Close to ferry. Close to restaurants. Afternoon manager was extremely good went out of his way to help a big thank you to him. Would recomend this to other people to stay here.

Nice family place, very cozy and homey and next to a lot of places to walk. They were very attentive and friendly. Their breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay!

Stayed here 3 nights. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delightful. The room was nice once the AC cooled it to my preference. The only drawback is if you are not a night owl, you can hear the music from the pubs until midnight or so. This could be positive or negative, depending on your preference. :-). Great location and fun/interesting decor.

The attention and care at this hotel were extremely poor. The owner, an elderly man, was rude and used profanity. The manager, a woman, seemed attentive but lacked courtesy. Our arrival at the hotel was a disaster. It took us half an hour to traverse the 500-meter road, and despite calling ahead, they didn't warn us about it. If they can't manage this, how can they talk about hospitality? The first disaster upon entering the hotel was finding two single beds instead of a double bed. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working, but the hotel management seemed unconcerned. This kind of accommodation was dismal considering the price paid. Additionally, there was virtually no sound insulation; all the noise from the evening echoed inside the room. The bed sheets were torn and the floors were dirty. I have no criticism that they could refute. Don't make the mistake of trying this place out.

Lovely boutique hotel, run by a very friendly and welcoming host, who spoke good English. Old stylish boutique decor.
Central location with easy access to everything. V close to ferry if you come across from Galipoli side.
Car park opposite for a small fee.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of Cay (tea). Would def go there again if in Canakkale.
Noisy student bars close by, which actually did NOT stop us sleeping, and t hey must ha e stopped at midnight anyway.

This is a very cute, small hotel in the heart of bustling Çanakkale. Rooms were small, but I guess you should not expect more if you want to be in a historic building in the center of a small busy town. There is a great bar right under the hotel, which had a rock music night, and I would have happily joined if I were not exhausted from 8 hours of driving. It was my fault that I picked a downtown hotel instead of the remote quiet one, which would let me sleep after a long trip. 🙂 But don't get me wrong, I would love to go back and spend more time when I'm not as exhausted.
I am grateful at the young man at the reception, who made a booking for us when I called last minute from the road.
I also loved breakfast - a traditional Turkish breakfast, and even though it did not have many options, everything was homemade, and tasted like from your mom's kitchen. You could tell it was made with love.
