Çanak Hotel in Canakkale

Thank goodness we only booked one night! The rooms are out of the dark ages, tired, worn, dull and disappointing. Great if you're on a budget but one night was enough. We had a room on 6th floor right outside the lift which was noisy. The noise was worse from The bar right above our room and went on until after 2am.

This is with out a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. On arrival we had difficulty negotiating the steps up to reception however another guest helped my wife with her luggage as no one at reception was at all interested. On checking in the receptionist asked a porter to take or luggage to our room which was done very begrudgingly. On entering our room there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in our non smoking room. It was obvious that the non smoking rule was not policed by the number of burn marks on the wooden furniture. We were tired from a long day of travel so didn't complain but went to the restaurant for dinner. It was closed but should have been open at that time. To give some credit the bed was comfortable but the whole room lacked maintenance with light bulbs missing, etc. On checking out we had the same problem with getting our luggage down the stairs and on asking for help none was given. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
