Iway Inn Hotel in Cambridge

I had a completely unpleasant experience with this hotel, I booked to stay for 4 nights but I left after 1 night. The hotel was in complete darkness when I arrived on foot alone, I tripped over on something because I couldn't see and the place looked abandoned from the front. I had to search to find any staff. The hotel made me feel very unsafe as a solo female traveler- the door wasn't secure, it only had a chain as a lock. The bathroom was disgusting and didn't seem like it had been cleaned- there was stains and dirt at the bottom of the toilet bowl and dirt on the mirror and floors. I didn't brush my teeth or even get changed into my pyjamas for the one night I stayed. It wasn't particularly cheap for the quality of the room. The bed frame was broken but the actual bed wasn't uncomfortable. I don't think this hotel meets the standard to be in operation. I want to take this further and get a refund.

Really weird place. Poor service. The rooms were not cleaned at all. We booked 2 rooms and both rooms were full of empty beer cans and dead insects. The bedsheets seemed clean, the mattress did not.

The only good part of staying here is that we found £3.50 under one of the beds.

Even with this buried treasure, the cheaper price was not even close to being worth not just booking a Premier Inn.

Don't stay here.

The only thing I can describe this hotel is as a ghost house or a prison. For sure, if I knew it was such a hotel, I would have preferred to sleep on the street rather than there. I went there with my wife, we got our room and went into the city for a tour of the city. When we came back, we entered our room password and went into our room, there were 4 other men there. Then the hotel reception gave us another room without any reasonable apology. The shower was not working, the water kettle was broken, and the toilet was broken. There were no toilet paper and not enough washing liquid. The hotel reception close around 10pm ,and there is no one there ,in a really awful location,. You don't dare to come out of your room for a moment. In just one word, I can say sleep on the street, you are much safer than this hotel.

I arrived today for a few days away with my partner. All Reviews and images online were amazing on booking.com. The price we paid was £88 for 2 two nights.
When we arrived at 3pm it looked abandoned, no lights on, all curtains closed, and completely darkness inside. There was only 1 other car in the car park on arrival.
A man painting a ran down shed in the car park he didn’t even look at us.
We went to the front door, joking it would locked, and it was! It was completely closed, the ‘open’ sign in the window switched off.
There was a mobile number in the window, with a sign “call to sign in”
We called the number 3 times and got no answer! We walked back to the man painting the shed in the car park. And he told said “wait a minute he’s coming” about 3 minutes later a taxi pulled up, and a man got out and welcomed us, he took us through the back walkway and took us into the “lobby” which was in complete darkness, dusty and messy, the windows were dirty. The “patio” we expected was 2 walk ways jointing together with long over grown grass between them! With doors with small door code pads on the outside to get in and out of the room! It looked like a shed door! The owner took us outside and looked inside 2 rooms before inviting us inside one, he said “if you want to cancel you will get a full refund” I was shocked as we were old half way through the door.
When we walked in, it was nothing like the pictures. The bed was on wheels and pushed away as you sat down, the bed was dirty, there was a dirty mug with tea at the bottom on the side table, and a sticky brown substance sprayed up the wall, the towels were dirty, The room was freezing and the owner leant over us and turned the heating on, it was colder inside the room than outside.
My partner asked to change rooms as he wasn’t happy! The owner called a man over to look for a decent room for us, this man looked in 4 different rooms before showing us too more, which were worse than the first!
DO NOT GO HERE! I felt unsafe inside the rooms, and I felt dirty after leaving!
I did not stay here! Not safe at all!

I've made a reservation for a friend to this hotel through hotels.com and i wish i didn't. My friend was heading to sandy from Scotland to pick-up a car, on the way he received a call from the hotel so they can collect the payment (fair enough) they provided him with a padlock number for the get and a code for the room. And explained to him that no one will be there. When my friend has arrived he walked in to a freezing room with no heating with a small portable heater sitting there not even on. The shower is electric and was very cold to use as well. For £101 a night that is shocking. I've tried calling the hotel today few times but no answer. And i wonder why businesses go bust. Avoid at all costs unless you wanted to book in a ghost hotel.

The most horrible “hotel” I have ever been.
Avoid this place. It looks like an abandoned place in the middle of nowhere. Very uncomfortable bed, dirty walls , dirty bathroom and shower is awful. It doesn’t feel safe to stay in that place at all. The entrance to what they call reception ( seems like a pub counter) looks like an alleyway. The pictures advertised doesn’t look nothing like the original state of the place.
Avoid this place and don’t waste your money.

Absolutely appalled at this hotel.

Two members of my team stayed at the facility this evening and have only spent an hour at the hotel before leaving.

There was dirt, rust, non-existent paint work. I would be so conscious about any reviews you read that are actually positive as they are most likely fake.

I have not been offered a refund despite my staff having only been on site for an hour. What an absolute disgrace.
