Amazing reception team and very welcoming staff.
Jack makes us feel comfortable as soon as we arrive ,
you can feel how Jack is exceptional at his customer care and other members of staffs were also welcoming and very helpful.

Breakfast was good as well.
The area is quiet.

Hotel is not in the city but parking is not expensive (6 pounds)

I stayed in Holiday inn during March in room 046. It was a very clean room on arrival with twin beds and a bigger than expected bathroom. It had a good shower with Dove washes. It was a 45 min walk from the Centre of Cambridge along Mill Road or you can get the No 2 bus that costs £3. It was a pleasant walk. The reception staff were very helpful and check in was quick. The room had a good temperature and it was cosy. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a kettle, TV and an iron. The breakfast area was very busy in the mornings. The hot breakfast was ok. The Coffee was Ok there were a range of pastries and muffins all Ok. There were a lot of poor behaved people with a lot of ill behaved children in the breakfast area. Overall I had a comfortable stay. The room itself was very quiet. The images provided are of the room and view from the window, the walk to the hotel. I hope they are helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, and the standout factor was without a doubt the service. The staff were consistently warm and attentive throughout our visit. A special shout‑out to Jorgen, who kindly offered us a complimentary drink when our food was delayed. It wasn’t about the freebie—it was the gesture, the willingness to go the extra mile, and the way he made us feel genuinely welcomed. Moments like that truly elevate the experience and deserve recognition.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel on Sunday night so that in itself must speak volumes.
We live only 17 miles away however it’s such a relaxing night with great food & excellent staff that we find the great price on a Sunday night hard to resist.
Hanna & Ben along with the other employees make this the go to destination for us.
All reception staff are professional & well presented & it’s clear to see that they are all happy & work well together.

Standard holiday inn a bit out of a trek into town, good deal for parking and great staff running breakfast (which was ok)

Good location outside city center, near park and ride or drive into city center directly. Breakfast a bit simple, not even have boiled / fried eggs, no fruits.

Me and my wife (plus the puppy) booked a night stay to come explore Cambridge for the first time, booking in was a breeze, candice sorted the booking in process, helped us with parking, gave us suggestions for sight seeing opportunities and upgraded my accidental twin single booking to a king with late check out and free drinks.

Hotel was clean tidy and the room itself was the best chain hotel room I’ve ever stayed in! The bathroom was lovely and a shower I actually enjoyed.

Overall really enjoyable stay, ever so impressive for a chain hotel. Have recommended to family and friends and will be hopefully returning with my young nephew as he’s desperate to try their robot pancake machine.

Our experience with this hotel was generally positive, but there were several shortcomings to consider before making a decision. We booked quite late, and the prices were affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a comfortable balance between the kitchen or restaurant and the living spaces. The surroundings are green and quiet.

However, several things disappointed us. I understand that this is a Holiday Inn Express, so it provides basic and mid-level services rather than the amenities of four- or five-star hotels in the area. Still, some issues should be mentioned, and I think my review may help others decide.

For example, if you stay on the ground floor during winter, the rooms are noticeably cooler than those on other floors. The temperature control was extremely limited, and you cannot adjust the temperature individually in your room above 25 degrees Celsius.

Second, the amenities in some rooms are below average compared to other hotels. We did not receive slippers, a safe, a toothbrush, or similar items. If you request a toothbrush or razor, they will provide it.

Third, the hotel is a bit far from the city center on foot, which can significantly increase your transportation costs. However, if you enjoy walking, this may not be a major issue.

Fourth, if you book a stay with breakfast, be aware that the breakfast selection is very limited. However, if you purchase meals for lunch or dinner, you have a good chance of enjoying a nice meal at an affordable price.

Lastly, I would not say that the room service is acceptable, as there was very little difference before and after the rooms were cleaned. You probably need to request deep cleaning each time so the staff knows what to do. I do not like that so many things depend on guests' requests and that the hotel lacks a systematic and holistic approach. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel in Cambridge City, and I would be always grateful for this positive and enjoyable experience. Good luck!
