Phoenix Hotel Liverpool in Liverpool

This is a vastly overpriced pub with rooms, £215 for 1 nght & £50 for bunch of M&S roses & wine!!! Rooms ok decoration wise. No reception just bar staff. No food, unless on match days when there's a burger van outside. Too far out with nothing around it. Parking on cobble st outside. TV didn't work, had to get barman to sort it. No surface to put toiletries in bathroom. Bars on windows facing brick wall. Wouldn't recommend unless prices are drastically reduced.

Do not use this hotel! The pictures do not compare to what you get! And by the time you realise it’s a grubby room you won’t be offered your money back! Upon arrival we waited 20mins for our room due to the one staff keep going to serve customers beer despite ourselves being ahead of them in the Queue. The room itself smelt of damp as there were no windows or circulation Dow in a converted cellar it seemed! The TV advertised had no aerial attatched so it was useless and the remote had the back missing so the batteries fell out. The wall paper was all coming away from the walls with yellow grime showing the paper coming away. We pulled the sheet back and found worn holes in the mattress with human hair where it hadn’t been cleaned for maybe weeks or months. There was a teabag wrapper sat round the door entrance and the shower only run hot water where you couldn’t shower as it was so hot. I’m not a fussy person and I’ve been to many hotels through the years but believe me this one is disgusting. We decided to leave and left the room at 2100, offered no refund just a ok sorry and bye. Travelled back home and ruined our weekend away! Contacted the hotel during and after the stay and best I got was we appreciate your feedback! Don’t make same mistake as me, pay a bit more and avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed with my experience with this hotel. My booking was confirmed, yet the hotel cancelled my reservation just one day before my scheduled arrival for a birthday trip. This left me scrambling to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, which was stressful. Cancelling a confirmed booking with almost no notice shows a lack of professionalism and consideration for guests. Travel plans often involve time, money, and coordination, and the hotel’s actions completely disrupted those plans. I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here if you want reliability and peace of mind. Receptionist was rude and disconnnected the call twice. Also refused to pass me over to a manager or supervisor.

I liked rooms with windows, so I paid extra and booked a standard double room. However, the room I was shown was a basement room without a window.
I went to ask the staff member who showed me the room, but they told me to wait for a while and didn't show up, so I asked another staff member.
I was told there were no rooms left and I would have to stay in the economy room in the basement. Does that make sense? LOL I need to check the number of rooms. LOL
My schedule got messed up because I kept waiting because I was asking about rooms.
Please check this thoroughly. ;;
It seems like they said they wouldn't take a deposit, but they're trying to give me a basement room.

Nothing good to say. 1 star too many. Cracks on walls, no idea how they have so many positive reviews. Maybe people who stay here do not have great self esteem. But it was cheap .
