The Podworks Hotel in Liverpool

I was suppose to have a stay 11-13 Dec, unfortunately I have had to leave and travel home due the experience. 11th I called to see if my room was ready early, was told yes, arrived then was asked if I’d paid for an early check in. Explained I’d already called and then saw her on CCTV shouting at the cleaner to hurry cleaning my room. Was given my key, entered my room and it was not as seen in picture online a lot smaller and not clean. I pulled the bedsheet back and there was makeup stains on the bed, like the sheets hadn’t been washed and someone else’s hair on the pillow. Not sure if this was because the cleaner was rushed. She could’ve told me our room wasn’t ready that would’ve been fine. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows rock hard. We tried to make the best out of a bad situation and went to bed. To then be woken up at 00:00 by the fire alarm going off, no reassurance given and it wasn’t a nice wake up call. 12th we left and went out for the day. We came back and the key card wasn’t working, I went to reception, no ask for identification just room number and card given back (I could’ve been anyone asking for that key card). When I entered the room there was a key card in the holder showing signs of entry. However no bed made, no new towels, nothing had been cleaned someone had entered our room for no apparent reason, leaving us feel unsafe. What an appalling experience we have had and I hope something can be resolved.

Avoid this awful place.stench of drains as soon as you walk into stairs. Filthy dirty sheets and duvet. On returning from night out we discovered our room and friends had flooded. All the carpet was sodden with bits of toilet paper in it. They tried to tell us just overflowing sink but as with previous reviews it’s toilet pipes. We were moved to a very tired so called apartment. I would keep a rat there. Avoid

Avoid this hotel...I have travelled all over the world..and this hotel is absolutely beautiful..but all the rooms are underground so no windows and very very tiny if you suffer from Asma or get claustrophobic...dont go there...2 people and it is full up....and if you have mobility problems forget it as there is no lift ..My friend stayed here for a few nights 🌙 and I was staying in a hotel across the city..she had an accident and ended up in A&E and could not walk...the girl on reception when my friend was leaving was below the belt no customer service what so ever ...it's not the fixture or fittings you remember in a hotel is how the staff treat you. But do not stay here .this hotel 🏨 is the pits ..which is scouse for awful 😖

the hotel was okay until me and my friend tried to go to sleep and was woken up twice by a false fire alarm with no explanation and we werent the only room who tried to leave because of the worry of the alarm it made us very anxious for the rest of our stay

Was put in a room in the basement where there was a strong sewage smell - not sure how anyone is expected to stay/sleep through that. Thankfully we were moved one floor up where the room was better however still quite filthy. (Sheets with stains, bed pallets were dirty) Check out time of 11am however from 9:40 the housekeepers were playing loud music for all to hear and having loud conversations in the hallways. Not pleasant to be woken out of sleep by this. Wouldn’t stay here again , plenty of other hotels this cheap that are 10x better

I checked in this hotel for a week, I was in my room for less than 1 hour on check in day and I was told my dad passed away suddenly, I was devastated, still am obviously, this company cancelled my hole stay and kept all my money, no empathy or nothing
