There are great value hotels and then there are amazing value hotels. The Marlborough Hotel has recently been renovated and it’s been done very tastefully. You feel that there is a lot of quality to the place.

The staff are very welcoming and very friendly. We felt instantly at home in a post Covid environment when everyone is a little bit apprehensive.

There is an abundance of restaurants and bars just down the road and it’s a stones throw from some lovely beaches.

Would highly recommend!

A very odd place rooms recently refurbished but only given 2 bath towels and 1 toilet roll. We asked if we could have breakfast to be told that they had no food or drink available even though their website states that a restaurant and bar were there? When we paid we were told card machine didnt work and could we pay cash we said we could not do this and then the card machine did work! During the night around midnight someone knocked on our door? There was alot of shouting going on outside as well. The room wasnt totally clean the glass which was there was dirty too. There is no hairdryer and no bath mat making bathroom floor very slippery. The only good thing about this place is the size of the room and decor and the refurbishment of the bathroom although the shower was hit and miss temp wise. The bed was comfortable. Its located 10 minute walk from Waterloo station with frequent trains into Liverpool city centre around 20 minute journey. Local buses were very good too as was the choice of good restaurants in South Street 10 minutes walk away. All in all we felt that this hotel was on the brink of closing down it felt like it was more of a hostel than a hotel.

Rooms are absolutely mingin move the beds and look under them if you don't believe me I wouldn't stay there ever again but that's down to the woman who lives next door (the manageress - HA) she doesn't clean up properly and gets very angry at you when you point the dirt and mess out to her. She's very angry and nasty - maxine her name is. Do your job properly the rooms are disgusting

This place needs to be shut down!!!! They use it for vulnerable people and the environmental health need to go in and inspect the living conditions which they have these vulnerable people living in. The woman’s husband entered my daughters room when she was asleep. She’s 20 years old and was terrified, The woman told my daughter it wasn’t a hotel room but when we complained about the man entering the room the Whitechapel argued that it was housekeeping. When we had previously been told it wasn’t a hotel and they DO NOT HAVE HOUSEKEEPING! They have rat traps in the rooms and the place in covered in mould so much that my daughter became Ill, when my daughter went to collect her things someone had been in her room and removed all the rat traps and had cleaned her room to cover they’re tracks it’s absolutely disgusting that this is the way vulnerable people are being treated. Mould is a serious health hazard and this will be effecting people’s health. It needs to be investigated and shut down!!

The woman who runs this place lives next door to this hotel and she's not a nice person her husband walked in my room one day as he thought I'd be out and when I asked him what the hell he thought he was doing coming in my room he told lies and said I was confrontational to him - ya bet ya **** I was

More freedom, respect + food in jail than you get in this place! Spoken to like crap, can't see family + friends, can't have essential support for health issues, told when to clean room and change bedding, no access to kitchen or laundry facilities, no access to food or drink or help with housekeeping... I would avoid this place like the plague especially if you are feeling down because you will feel even worse after the people there are more than happy to kick you while your down and tell you that you should be extremely grateful for the disgusting service they are providing!

Cheap and cheerful, it's really a B&B rather than a hotel! The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast was also excellent served until 9:30am. It's perhaps due a bit of maintenance in places, but I couldn't complain about anything at the reasonable price. It's situated on the main road out of Liverpool and is less than a ten minute walk from Waterloo station, with a car park at the back. I'd definitely consider staying at The Marlborough again if I'm in the area
