Hyde Park Boutique Hotel in London

For my business trip on the night of 20–21 April at the London Hyde Park Boutique Hotel, I was assigned a basement room (B06) with a serious issue: smoke was entering the room, likely coming from a chimney located near the window. The air was difficult to breathe.

The room was very small and claustrophobic and did not correspond to the photos shown on the website. The window was also defective and could not be properly opened, preventing adequate ventilation.

I reported the issue several times to reception. Staff did kindly try to help by forcing the window open, but this made the situation worse. I was not offered another room as I was told the hotel was fully booked.

Due to the conditions and as I began experiencing throat irritation and nausea, I was forced to leave the hotel at around 12:00 am and find alternative accommodation at my own expense. The hotel later refused any refund, denying the issue.

I would also underline that my colleague’s room (B09) faced directly into another room, with no privacy at all.

Given that there are many hotels and Airbnb options in the area at similar prices, I would strongly advise against staying here.

People with no soul and no word. Each and every of the 6 days I stayed in at Easter 2026, they promised an answer from the manager that never arrived. My friend took a head cáncer and he could not come and we could not occupy the second room. While Vueling refunded the money when seeing the Hospital record, these people did not. Not even a small sign of compassion . Nothing.

I wish the manager and the owner do not get ill and do not get the same response.

Eve worse, I am still waiting for 50 GBP guarantee to be refunded after 2 months .

I am ver sorry to witness that there is still people with this laying behaviour.

The world will be a better place when this hotel finally closes down

There is no change in the real evaluation. The hotel you booked when you checked in in advance, but when you arrived, they told you there were no rooms. This is very annoying. You are in a foreign country where you are unfamiliar with the place, and then you apply for a refund because there are no rooms. The hotel doesn't give you a refund and says there is no refund here. The hotel environment is very similar to the Myanmar industrial park. You just stay there, but they don't say a word.
