The main reason I write this review is that they didn’t honor this prepaid reservation. They charged me at the higher new rate and asked me to try to get refund for the prepaid amount. I might go to court with them.

Not the best experience. The room reeked of stale cigarette smoke, and unfortunately I could not connect to the wifi. Worse still, when I called the front desk for help with connecting to the wifi (after having done all the troubleshooting recommended on the Holiday Inn Express website and via Reddit suggestions) I was given a number to call. When I called that number from my room it said the call could not be completed as dialed. So I called the front desk again, but each time I started to explain the situation I was hung up on. Finally, on the fourth try, I got through to one of the two people at the front desk and told them the number didn’t work. They said they would try the number and put me on hold, when they took me off hold they said the number worked fine. So I tried again, but this time I filmed dialing the number and the automated voice message for proof, then went down to the front desk. At the front desk they dialed the number for me and I spent an hour on the phone with IT trying to fix the issue. It finally was fixed, but I would not stay here again.

The location is excellent, less than a ten-minute drive from the airport. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Breakfast is included, with a wide variety.

I've stayed at so many Holiday Inn hotels and have always had a positive experience with the brand and service! This one in San Diego is the only one I've stayed at. My verdict: Avoid it!!!
We checked in on August 13th. The room cost $157.57, and I was charged an additional $241.32. Other hotels usually only charge a $50 or $100 deposit. I didn't think much of the extra deposit and didn't take it seriously. The room was new and smelled like a renovation. The air conditioner remote didn't work. We didn't use the refrigerator or TV, so we're not sure what happened.
We checked out the next day. Other hotels usually refund the deposit a few hours after checkout. This hotel had no information about the deposit refund until we left San Diego and returned to Los Angeles. Four days later, I checked my credit card statement and discovered that the deposit wasn't fully refunded; it was an extra $190.32. I'm still negotiating with the hotel, and I'm not sure if I can get it back.
The staff at this hotel are all Indian, and I'm very unpleasant. If you see Indian-style establishments, stay away from them.

We visited San Diego for my son's graduation. While there are many hotels in the area, we chose the Holiday Inn Express. It's conveniently located near the Fashion Valley Light Rail Station, about a ten-minute walk away, and the Route 88 bus stops right outside. The hotel is very clean, the breakfast is excellent, and hot water and coffee are available 24 hours a day in the lobby. The front desk staff, mostly Indian, are friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a simple and clean environment, but the breakfast is too simple and feels too shabby. The overall service is acceptable, but the location is excellent and it is very convenient for sightseeing.

From what I have gone through I have to say it’s not a service-oriented hotel. Very unprofessional staffs, very intruding and rude. Very unpleasant stay here.

I had a Mission Valley hot dog with garlic fries. Possibly the best hot dog and best fries I have ever had! Good service. Reasonably priced.

The food wasn't bad but because of their 3% surcharge their food is overpriced. Also the waitress seemed very impatient and pushy

Great burgers! Garlic fries are to die for! Great selection, fresh ingredients and something for everyone. Service was good. We would go again.

I like the farm to table experience and ingredients. I don't mind paying a bit more for quality. The waiter was polite and respectful. He explained the menu and made useful suggestions. I would highly recommend this place if your staying at the Hotel Circle. The garlic fries are totally worth it and the burgers are wicked good. The relaxed and chilled atomsphere at the end of a hot long day is always welcomed. They even have a patio!

Very good food! Had the cowboy burger and it was well worth it....it also comes with fries for the price. Stayed at the Days Inn and the convenience was excellent. Definitely worth checking out if in the area.
