San Diego Marriott Hotel in San Diego

Hello, general manager of the hotel! Hope you read this comment!!!I stayed in this hotel because it was close to UTC and UCSD. I stayed here for 4 days. I was satisfied with the hardware facilities. But after I left the hotel, I deducted $30 from the deposit I paid without any contact and communication. Then I called the front desk to communicate that the Internet fee was deducted, but it didn't exist at all. I was a registered member of the hotel. The Internet was free. He said it would be refunded within 5 days. However, it was not refunded after 5 days, and then I called the front desk again, saying that I would inform the manager the next day, but I still did not take the initiative to contact, so I felt that the impression of the hotel was reduced to the extreme, arbitrary charges, such hotel management chaos, there are big loopholes, I suggest that future guests must pay more attention, otherwise it is likely to be arbitrarily deducted.

The bedding was satisfactory, and the location was close to USCD; overall, I was satisfied. However, there were a few minor issues: 1. Two bottles of purified water were provided in the room on the first day, but not after that. The front desk said that they could only be purchased in the adjacent room, where a 500ml bottle of purified water cost $6.70 (this same bottle costs 17 cents in a supermarket). During my 9-day stay, purified water was mostly not provided, occasionally one bottle was provided, and then two bottles were provided on the last day. I suggest the hotel management standardize this practice, either providing two bottles for all stays or none at all, instead of leaving guests guessing. 2. The booking confirmation mentioned toothpaste, so I removed the toothpaste from my luggage. However, I couldn't find any in the room upon arrival and had to buy it myself. I don't know why. 3. The room description mentioned a balcony, which I thought I could sit on and enjoy the breeze, but it turned out to be very narrow, not even big enough for a chair, and seemed useless. I suggest future guests avoid choosing rooms with balconies. 4. The room is poorly soundproofed, and you can often hear outside noise. Fortunately, it is a relatively quiet community, but people with poor sleep should choose this option with caution.

As someone who travels often and stays at Marriott's around the world, I continue to choose this brand because of its consistency, network, and member benefits—and the Marriott La Jolla absolutely lived up to that reputation. Despite arriving at 3am due to a delayed flight, I was warmly greeted at the front desk without having to wait. The night staff had a smile on their face and immediately made sure I had everything I needed to rest well, including noting housekeeping to pass my room until later and offering to arrange a wake-up call if needed.

Every team member I encountered throughout my stay was professional, friendly, and genuinely focused on guest comfort. The entire facility was spotless, and the beds (including the pillows!) were incredibly comfortable with excellent support. The food was high quality, and both the indoor and outdoor common spaces were inviting and relaxing. Safe, connected parking and a secure, convenient location made it easy to come and go.

This is exactly why I stay loyal to Marriott—exceptional service, thoughtful details, and a reliably great experience.

This hotel was special for us. I'd stayed in the nearby Regents building before, and this time, I chose this hotel for my return. Coincidentally, the front desk arranged a room on the edge overlooking the building, high-rise, and with a Juliet balcony. What a coincidence! Thank you!

Front Desk was terrible. I expected more from a Marriott

The location of this hotel is great and super close to Westfield UTC, no need for a ride share it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops you need. I had a great view from my room which was a plus, but I need to take this time to highlight the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, but there is one staff member in particular who really caught my eye and her name is Stephanie at the bar. From the second I sat down at the bar she came up to me immediately and greeted me warmly asking what I wanted. Her service was quick and prompt and she also gave me some good recommendations when I was stuck on what to order next. I came back down to the bar the second night of my trip and it was the same thing. Just super sweet, attentive and is just exactly what you want in your employees. During your visit, please make sure to go see her! She will take great care of you! And thank you Stephanie for taking care of me during my time there, I hope on my next trip I will see you!

This is a pretty standard Marriott. If you're in town to do something, business/visit colleges, it is centrally located. It's within walking distance to the mall nearby.

The parking situation is awkward in that there's a Hertz co-located inside the parking area and the spots near the hotel entrance aren't available.

The one ding about it is that it is near an airport and you hear a lot of jet noise... at least when we were there.

If I'm in the area again, I'd probably do something else. Nothing spectacular about this hotel, but nothing terrible either.

solo business trip, everything ok with my stay, all smooth.

We had a corner room with a large balcony. Not many available. Clean, TV and selections were good.

Amuse bar and restaurant was nice for dinner.. Service was good. No lunch service though.

Business and academic crowd in the heart of La Jolla's commercial area. The mall across the street is a bit of a walk, but not bad if young and able.
