Not great.
28.12.2025 Guest
The facility is in a fantastic location, so it has so much potential. In reality, it is more like an old dorm turned into a hostel with the slightly added benefit of private rooms. The rooms themselves are extremely small, featuring a small bunk bed, desk, and TV that does not turn on. The beds are old and springy. The sheets and pillows were nicely made and clean.
The worst part was the communal bathrooms. They were dirty and unfunctional. 3 of the 4 bathroom stalls were either missing toilet paper holders, locks, or were covered with urine. The place is just run down and poorly maintained. On the bright side, you do also get to use their YMCA gym and pool as a guest, so the facilities available were good. For the price I paid for this, this hotel is absolutely not worth it. This is at best a $50-80 hostel. I paid more than double the high end.

The service and staff was friendly. You could easily check in after midnight. The checkout was also easy. It’s just 4$ per luggage to leave them in the luggage room until 7pm.
The bathrooms weren’t that clean, it was ok. But they could get cleaned more often.
All in all our stay was okay.

Room was okay, but the bathrooms were very dirty. Would not recommend

The location was conveniently located to nature (central park) and train stations to get downtown. A personal washroom would have improved the quality of the visit.

Good location but bad facilities. I don’t like the service.

Well, i understand that this is one is one of the most affordable accommodation in a prime location so the price is not cheap; however, i believe the room condition could be better
1. I found trace of glass shard in the room floor
2. The bathroom and toilet facility are quite small compared to room quantity
3. The bed condition is really bad and totally loosen

The place is plain dirty and disgusting!
Both The bedrooms and the bathrooms
It should pass for a homeless shelter not hotel!
Not worth even $, let alone charging over $100 for a single room!

Take my advice!
Don’t pay money to rent the place!

DO NOT BOOK
DISGUSTING, CREEPY AND VERY BAD HOTEL.
ADVERTISING IS ALSO HUGELY MISLEADING AS WELL.
Dirty sheets, pictures claim the shower cubicles at least have a door but no, just a plastic shower curtain with zero privacy. I checked in, then saw and realised what a mistake I made and booked another place. I've now potentially lost money on this as Trip.com are also messing around too.

I recently stayed at the West Side YMCA and found it to be a great budget-friendly option in a convenient location. The rooms were clean and simple, with basic amenities that suited my needs for a short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the communal areas were well-maintained. It’s perfect if you’re looking for affordable accommodation in the city without luxury extras. I would definitely recommend it for travellers on a budget or those who prioritise location over high-end comfort.

Sat in the upstairs bar. Great service, good drinks, and good food, but pricey. The calamari salad portion is decent. The fish and chips are much smaller than anticipated. More like medium size fish sticks, really. The $4 cup of soup comes in a tiny 1.5" "bowl". If you change your side instead of chips, it comes in the same tiny bowl. It's like a large thimble... the chocolate mousse was good!

I'd probably come back if in the neighborhood.

Terrible DISAPPOINTMENT. Ordered the iceberg lettuce appetizer ($16) Asked for no onion. It came with onion. The size was so small it was insulting. Iceberg lettuce is not that high cost an item wholesale. Poor wine list, but ordered a bottle of wine. It was bad.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. We haven't been to Ed's since it opened a decade ago. Then it was so busy nobody could get a reservation or be served. I used Yogi Berra's line "it's so busy nobody goes there". Last night the place was 25% filled, depressing and as most people on Google & Tripadvisor say, the service is terrible. Truth is that the folks who play the part of waiter here usually play the part of busboy in similar restaurants. What a disappointment. Food is fine. I had the 3 chowder combination as an appetizer and they were just ok. I had the salmon as an entree and it was terrific............but we'll not be back.

Restaurants like this should have someone reading the Tripadvisor, Google, Yelp writings to know what the world thinks about them. My guess is that ED is no longer here as he was a star chef and wouldn't allow his name to be so abused. My sense is that he should ask to have his name removed..........unless nobody remembers who he is

Elegant setting, excellent service, great food and wine.

The service was horrible. It was disappointing for a chowder house. We will not ever go back

Nice place, good food, good drinks, lively atmosphere. We only stopped in for a quick bite and a drink but enjoyed our time and were provided great service!
28.12.2017 Emilian,
Mediocre at best. Chili was good, burger was lame.... waitress was disinterested and never even asked if we needed anything, which we did since she never brought th crackers for the chiili.... which we asked for. They bank in their location and not on repeat customers. Go elsewhere.

Food was good, but service was awful. I was ignored several times. Ridiculous.
26.11.2017 Lucas
According to the menu they love vegetarians, and they have the options but I don’t think they love anyone or the job they have. However, the food was pretty good, but the service sucked.
19.11.2017 Cora
I ate here the first time I visited New York and loved it. I try and come every time I'm in town. They have phenomenal oysters. I loved their blue cheese dip. Fingers crossed they put it back on the menu. The chilli is also amazing. There's so much flavor and I like the cheese they use to top it off. The manager is also really sweet. She came by every table, including ours to make sure everything was ok, and she chatted with us a bit. Will be back again!

It's a nice option in the Columbus Circle area that's reasonably priced with a good atmosphere. The food was pretty average and it was hard to get the attention of our server at certain points in our meal. I would give the steak (no flavor) and the crudite (sad veggies in hummus) a miss.
21.11.2017 Miyuki
Overall experience was okay. I made a reservation for 7PM but they could not prepare a table till 7:30PM. I was with 2 year old kid so I was not happy about it.
Atmosphere was okay. Since it was loud inside, I felt comfortable with a small kid. I did not need to worry even a kid started crying.
Food was fine. Stake was tender and salmon was nothing special. I loved dessert platter deal so much. It was $19 for 5 mini dessert and it was perfect to share with friend!!! I will probably go back to this place only for dessert.

Came with my family and relatives, and had wonderful time. The food is solid and the service complements it. The steak for two is a show stopper, served on a wooden board!

Food was pretty good but the service left something to be desired.

Landmarc is great, from the wines to the steak and even the cotton candy. They are reasonably priced for the location and very kid-friendly.
