Element New York Times Square West, New York1 / 30
7.9
New York, 311 West 39th Street (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The hygiene was so-so, and the room facilities were pretty bad. The hot water in the bathroom wasn't working, and the soundproofing was terrible. There was a connecting door between two rooms, and you could hear conversations clearly.
Overall, Element Times Square West was a very good base for my 16‑night business stay, and I would return if the rate is right next March or April. The location is excellent – an easy walk to Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and major subway lines, which made getting to meetings and sightseeing very convenient. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, and maintenance responded quickly when I...
Breakfast was amazing! It changed slightly every day, and having fruit was a nice touch. I was very satisfied.
First time staying with Element - mixed review: great value for central location, great spread for breakfast - thoroughly enjoyed it. On the other hand, room had some serious issues: the air conditioning split unit produced so much noise throughout the night which made it impossible to get any kind of quality sleep. No phones provided in the room which is intentionally discouraged any communication...
Excellent location 5 minutes walked to time square. Subway station and restaurants everywhere. Booked a room, including 2 people breakfast. BKT was convenient and okay. If you drive, make sure to park your car across the hotel that parking lot. Pay the hotel directly when you checked out to get a better price. Overall, it was a very good stay.
Pro: Good location and room size with mini kitchen. Con: Long lift waiting time, breakfast Q could be long

The Belvedere Hotel was surprisingly good hotel. A good 5 minute walk to the Red Steps of Times Square. Staff was friendly.
Extremely well located, friendly staff (especially in the morning at the coffee/tea service). Will visit again!
We were upgraded to a room on the 3rd floor but the shower knob was broken and unable to turn on shower. The digital clock was not working properly and unable to change to proper time. Luckily i told the front desk and they were able to change our room right away. Otherwise the hotel was good.
The hotel being at the heart of Midtown Manhattan is stone throw away from Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Madison Square, the Theater District, Central Park, port authority bus terminal, among many others. There are also lots of grocery stores and restaurants around so you won't worry about food. Staffs are helpful and when you're out of room, they do daily housekeeping, just make sure you remove...
The location is very good! The elevators are a bit slow and small. Avoid using them during peak times, such as 10:00 and 18:00.
Bathroom floor dirty, shade didn't close all the way, elevators always not running for some reason

Great location for the places we wanted to visit. Staff was friendly. Amenities were just average. Would have thought to be better for the holidays and the high pricing for the stay. Parking rates were ridiculous! Bar was understaffed and far from exceptional with a small list of offerings. Waited over 35 minutes to get a second drink, but walked out as the server was no where in site, busy helping...
Could not reccomend this hotel anymore! Close to everything, stunning view of the empire state from our room. The staff couldn’t be any more helpful, always happy with anything we asked them, and told us to have a good day, every morning we went on our travels. Very clean, maid service daily! And even a little bonus when we told them it was out friends 40th birthday we were traveling for gave us 4...
Hopefully there is bottle water upon check in. Toothbrush provided that will be the best.
Good hotel, great living space and location. Perfect to visit so mamy attractions and those are short walk away. Greatly recommend. Breakfast was good and lots of options, staffs friendly and helpful. Gym and self service laundry room available and so convenient. Underground next to hotel straight to wall street and statue of liberty ferry.

The room was quite clean and cozy. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You will be able to reach all the major sights in Manhattan easily on foot or by subway (several stations within a 2 minute walk from the hotel). The room had a kitchen with a large refrigerator and necessary cookware. Accommodation for a longer stay. At our request they brought a hot plate (electric) for cooking in the...

Hotel is in a convenient location. Rooms are clean and simple but functional. Kind of like a nicely appointed jail cell. Ess a bagel was good and just around the corner. Shared bathrooms were no problem and mostly clean except for some hair in shower drain one time. Elevators are TINY and have music 🎵 🎵. Also, there is music in the bathrooms. Staff was very courteous and responsive to our needs...
Stayed here just 2 nights but it was really nice! Had a solo room with a queen size bed, just big enough for one. The shared bathrooms were plentiful, clean, and warm. Only a few minutes walk to the subway. Staff were efficient and friendly. Didn’t have a chance to check out the rooftop or cafe.
I tried booking through AirBnb but made a mistake concerning the date (totally my own fault!). However, the guy at the desk was super nice and accommodating and got us a room right away anyhow. This was mid December, so finding a room on such short notice during a very touristy season was awesome. Room was small (ofc) but very nice. Reasonable price and there's a fun bar connected to the lobby. Would...
just stayed here for 2 nights and i would definitely consider staying again! my boyfriend and i shared a queen room with a private bathroom and we were comfortable with it being 2 of us. i definitely would not recommend more than 2 people for this specific room. the room is definitely small, with the bathroom being smaller, but that’s just “pod living” as we put it. the room felt very clean, a.c. was...
Can’t beat the prices at Pod and this location is particularly one of my favorites. The set up is fun, it’s a great place to staycay or to put up friends who are visiting the City. Convenient location, and super comfy beds. I loved the staff, too. Definitely put this on my recommended list of places to stay, especially if you’re going to spend a lot of time out of the room and really are just looking...

The room was tiny, there wasn't even enough space for two suitcases. The sink had no counter space for toiletries, and the facilities were outdated. The location, however, was decent.
It was around Thanksgiving, and the line for check-in was incredibly long. Hotel facilities in the US are pretty standard, nothing to write home about. Breakfast was free, but they still charge for tips. But then again, it's Manhattan, so the location is absolutely fantastic.
Lift is not enough, wasting too much time for waiting lift especially tush hour
Overall, my stay at the hotel was pretty good. The room size was just right for a solo traveler, and the bedding was clean and tidy, making for a comfortable sleep. All the basic amenities in the room were fully equipped, perfect for daily use.
I came to New York alone for Thanksgiving break as a college student. Most hotels in NYC strictly require guests to be 21 or older to check in. After searching for a long time on Trip.com, I finally found this hotel (not a hostel) that allows 18+ guests to check in by themselves. I even had Trip.com customer service confirm it with the hotel, which was a huge help! The location is great, just a short...
This hotel has no standard for hospitality. The only exceptional people who actually work and provide a service are the concierge (Harrison and his team!) and Housekeepers. The receptionist are really really slow, unresponsive to a simple question/request and feel like so bothered when you ask something related to your stay. The elevator took forever so you really need to plan well ahead before you...

We stayed one night. Upgraded to a better room for free. Staff are very accommodating and nice. Room was simple but has what you need. Bed was comfy!
The hotel front desk staff were very welcoming. Downstairs, the restaurant offers free coffee, tea, and drinking water in the morning, which is a great value! Even with a daily tip of 1-2 dollars, the room was cleaned thoroughly. It's truly rare to find such a good hotel in a prime Manhattan location where every inch of land is so expensive.
Good location, has a gym which is a huge one since the collaborate with a professional gym room
I stayed there for two nights. If you have business occasions near Grand Central, location is not too bad but if you expect various activities beyond business, you might have more options. 42nd-Grand Central station is 7-8 min by walk.
The room was a bit small, but its central location made it super convenient. The hairdryer wasn't very powerful. Breakfast was available downstairs, with coffee and bagels. You can also store your luggage after checking out.
Great little spot, really liked the free tours and it's quite affordable as a solo traveller.

Very convenient location, very comfortable.
I had a great experience on my NYC Christmas trip 2025. My family of four stayed in one of the junior suites and it was pretty spacious by NYC standards. There is a writing desk and a pull out sofa that my daughter slept on...no complaints which is rare. We were on the 52nd St. side of the hotel and the noise was at acceptable levels. The blackout curtains work well. The big upside to this property...
It’s an old building, and the rooms are not exactly how they look in the photos. But, it’s good price for the amount of space that you get. Service is hit or miss depending on the staff that attends to you, and there’s no bell service which is fine. I particularly liked the spacious lounge they let guests use 24/7 on the 12th floor — just a good space to get together if you have a big group staying...
We were double charged by the hotel even though we prepaid with CTRIP. The hotel checked us in under an old reservation they said they cancelled to our travel agent prior to our stay and made us pay for that while still keeping our money from the CTRIP prepaid reservation. The management at the hotel is dishonest and won’t refund our money even after CTRIP explained everything. Don’t stay here
We had a wonderful stay. We arrived early and the hotel staff reorganised the rooms and allowed us to check in. Very helpful and accomodating staff. Even allowed us late check out.
My stay at the Courtyard New York was absolutely wonderful! The hotel is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I was traveling solo and became very sick during my trip in NYC. Luckily, many hotel staff members helped me and kindly gave me hot tea. I am truly grateful for their support and kindness.
You can see that the room has been around for a while, but it’s been taken care of properly. It was tidy, fresh, and didn’t have that worn-out feeling some older places do. It felt looked after, which made a big difference.
Great location, very convenient for shopping, close to Times Square, right next to Broadway, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The room was clean and the service was good! 👍
Great location for Broadway musicals, and food options Good customer service, and housecleaning is proactive. But Wi-Fi is very slow.
The only upside was its proximity to Times Square.

I must say the location is ideal as within walking minutes to subway and airport bus. Generally ok with hotel service standards, recommended for short stays in NYC.
The location is really convenient! There are plenty of restaurants nearby, catering to both Chinese and Western tastes. The subway is right around the corner, with multiple lines accessible. Times Square is also just a few hundred meters away. However, I'm not sure why they charged a $20 deposit that was never refunded.
For Manhattan, this hotel is in a decent location and it's convenient for getting around.
Stayed here many times and it’s a great hotel in a fantastic location. Ran into an extremely rude front desk staff member though who kept hanging up on my calls to the front desk. I understand it gets busy but no response for over an hour is a safety issue.
Super convenient location because we were in the city mainly for a Broadway show just two blocks away, and proximity to the Port Authority bus stop was also a huge plus. Only question mark would be how housekeeping didn’t come in to clear our garbage even though we were there for two nights and having it piled up wasn’t pleasant. Otherwise everything was perfect including the front desk, bell men,...

The room is up to interior design trend but with humility smell. The bath towers are old and thin. The pillows are hard, and the mattress is soft not firm enough, I end up with neck and back pain the next morning and didn't sleep well at all. The TV shout down during the middle of the show.
The hotel is in a good location, but the view from the room window is really shabby and can only be closed. I booked a standard room with twin beds, but I was given an accessible room, which I was not used to. The washbasin was very small and could hardly hold anything. I booked breakfast, but the hotel gave me a $10 voucher. If I ordered a la carte, I would have to pay the difference with tax, which...
The hotel staff is very friendly and the location is great, right in the heart of Manhattan, making it easy to get around. The room is small but cozy, the surrounding area is convenient, and the service is thoughtful! The bed is a little soft, but this seems to be a common problem in all American hotels.
Located in the heart of Manhattan, the room was a bit small. But it was convenient. My Ctrip booking included breakfast, but it only offered a 20 yuan discount. There's an Ichiran Ramen restaurant across the street, but I've already warned you about the pitfalls.
This hotel has poor soundproofing. The clatter of dozens of exhaust pipes and boilers filled the air outside the window, making it impossible to sleep. There's a bar on the first floor, and the noise was so loud until 2 a.m. that I had to take sleeping pills to fall asleep. Rooms 1113 and 1115 were right next to each other, and we were woken by the banging of doors. Furthermore, his room light was...

I had to book an extra night last minute due to a canceled flight. The hotel price was very reasonable. The room was small and the elevator wait was long, but the bed was comfortable, so overall it was a good stay.
This hotel is really close to the Javits Center in New York, about a 10-minute walk, which was super convenient for my business trip. The facilities are complete, and the transportation is extremely convenient.
We booked this place because of its good location and reasonable price, needing a twin room. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews, and the Google Maps reviews were mixed as well. However, it actually exceeded my expectations. The 'Gold' type room had been renovated, and our room was in a quiet spot, which made for a very comfortable stay. We parked our car in the hotel's partner parking...
Clean and strategic location. But the AC is little bit annoying and to checkin you need to wait exactly 3pm. But, you can drop off your luggage to receptionist and you can go anywhere until checkin time is coming
Aside from the dry cleaning service being outsourced and consequently not very timely, everything else was excellent. The location, especially, was truly unbeatable.
Location is perfect. But the room is a bit old and small, otherwise its clean They will clean up the room daily and topping up the essentials. Good service though. Hassle-free upon checking in and out.
a decent hotel. a little older. our rooms were not right at first but the desk staff made it right. the layout of the floors are strange, some rooms are in the stairwell instead of the hallway. that said, the beds were comfy and it had a good location.

Since I booked at the last minute, it cost just under 50,000 yen for a room of this size, but I liked that it was very close to Times Square and Broadway. I was a little worried about going out at night since I was traveling alone, but since it's right in the middle of the tourist area, there were lots of people around and it was well-lit even at around 10:30pm, so I felt safe. What I love above this hotel is that it is in a perfect location, a few blocks to almost every attraction in NYC, thus saving time and money on transportation. Aside from its perfect location, Starbucks in across the street, there is Cook and Eatery beside the hotel in case you...
I stayed at this rather old hotel while taking an exam in New York over the weekend. The location in the heart of Manhattan was fairly convenient, but the weekend room rate was incredibly high at $2500 a night. The lack of a refrigerator and microwave in the room was very inconvenient.
Definitely going back to this hotel in the center of Manhattan with an amazing quality/price ratio!
Pretty nosy, other than that, every thing is great
The hotel is very conveniently located. Although it is old, it has American style and is very clean. The front desk service is also very good. However, the sound of the air conditioner is comparable to the feeling of an airplane cabin. There is no coffee machine in the room. I asked for some hot water at the front desk but they said there was none.

Overall the stay was comfortable and had great views. Only callout is the design of shower. It doesn’t have a door or covering that prevents the shower water from wetting the floor or bathroom door.

While the hotel seemed alright on the surface, the overall experience was terrible. It's located right by the road, and at night, it functions as a major garbage collection point, with garbage trucks rumbling loudly all night long. Excellent hotel and very close to all famous places. Staff are really amazing specially Katherine and Sahar at the front disk.
I love POD in Times Square. Convenient, clean, agreeable and welcoming staff! Usually I can get a room for about $200 (it doubles during the holiday season though). Still a bargain, and close to all the important places. Highly recommend!
It was clean, simple, and comfortable!! There was everything necessary and not too luxury, and that was the point I liked. Although, I thought there were some improvements in cleanliness. But I want to stay here again.
I often use Pod Times Square on business travel. This must be one of your best options if you want more activities beyond business. If you’re non-business traveler, this will provide value propositions you expect in term of easy access to Times Squre and must-have-facilities room with relatively affordable rate even in holiday seasons.
No fridge is understandable but no hair dryer is unacceptable. The room is very functional i love it. The view the rack the hooks the bed. I had good sleep during my stay. No loud noise. If you could add hair dryer that would be awesome and fridge that is even more awesome.
Clean, small room in a convenient location. Bit noisy: water pipes, street traffic, door slamming, hallway conversations. Free coffee!

A really great location with close proximity to the subway.
Initial water from the shower contained rust. Toilet flash did not work, and worked after manual water directly into the tank
It is a good hotel with easy access location to 3 subways stations. But when you check in , they will ask for an additional charge on top. My 2 weeks of stay I had to pay an extra usd 300+
It was good for the price, but the wifi was not the fastest and there was instability issues.

The hotel's location is good, with plenty of delicious food and great Asian restaurants nearby. Although the room is a bit small, it's sufficient for three people.
