I absolutely loved staying at the Inn. This was such a gift of a place. After looking between AirBnB and hotel options in the area, we’re so glad that the Inn was available. The room was ready for my husband and I upon arrival - AC was on and the room was spotless and clean. I loooved the old world style and decor of our room- and the overall property! We stayed in the O’Henry and it was absolutely perfect for the both of us. Elijah was there to welcome us on our very late check in (we arrived very early morning 2am).

When you book here, definitely don’t expect all the bells and whistles of our “normal” century hotel stay as it’s very small (only 9 guest rooms total) and our key was a real metal house key that isn’t digital or electronic. Very old school - BUT I honestly loved the simplicity of it all. The nostalgia was just divino.

Our overall experience felt very homey and cozy: starting from the website to the check in to the customer service and amenities. The location was perfect for us in what we were visiting NYC for! I will definitely stay again 🩵

This Inn needs an overhaul. Stayed here 24 years ago, and it was sweet and quaint. Stayed here last week and it felt spooky and way past its prime. The shower didn’t drain; there were clear water stains in the ceiling, and everything felt old in the worst way. Love the idea of this place but it really needs a renovation and some TLC to resurrect its charm and hidden gem reputation. Very disappointing.

Perfect for what myself and my friend wanted for our first trip to New York. Fabulous location and the bar downstairs was nice for a night cap after our show at Irving Plaza! We loved the vintage feel about the whole place as well.

One of the best places in the City. A hidden gem into the past of Gramercy. Wonderful staff, beautiful environment, great tea service, incredible linens. I could go on forever. I want to stay here forever.

Service, location, amenities… everything is very exclusive and wonderful. Highly recommended! We stayed in room Stanford White on the second floor, facing the peaceful backyard. Super comfortable bed, very spacious, lots of storage, wonderful bathroom. Two beautiful brownstones connected, lovely common area. There is a tea room which we did not test but looked fabulous. The bar was closed but also looked very promising. I’ve been to NYC several times but this was by far the best experience. Thank you TIAIP Team!

This hotel is VERY different from a normal hotel. It's in a converted brownstone and only has a few rooms. My room is HUGE, easily 4-5 times the size of a normal Manhattan room. The decorations are classic and can look old at times, but it's a really unique effect and I like it. It's also the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in on Manhattan. I had trouble getting the wifi to work, so business travelers that can't hotspot may want to look elsewhere. I will definitely stay here again!

The Inn at Irving Place is two old town houses converted into a 12 room hotel. I would more accurately describe it as a bed and breakfast. Outside is a nondescript building making the Inn attractive for folks such as celebrities looking for a stay in NYC. The lack of a sign was a bit confusing. Just look for the address of 56 Irving Place. I highly recommend for the charm alone. We attended a show at Irving Plaza, which is about 2 blocks from the Inn. The Union Square subway station is about five blocks from the Inn, making travel to it a cinch. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit that part of town. Some photos of the dining room where a nice breakfast is served are included with this review.

A hidden gem for a portrait photographer. If your client can book a room, you'll get a fabulous variety of Victorian backdrops to shoot them against, both in the room and in common areas if it's not a busy season or time of the day/week.

It would be nice it they change the menu .

Super-chic yet Charming tea room/hotel takes you on a Magic Carpet Ride to another time and place. Opulent, ornate and very low-key, it is definitely a reminder of a New York from yesterday. Keeping true to its culture and charm. I would definitely recommend going to have a cup of tea and cookies with your best friend or a third date.

The food is incredibly delicious! The dishes were cooked to perfection and I'm not a pasta conissour.

Plus the service here is very efficient.

This is really in response to Sergio C. Who the hell brings a vegan friend and who doesn’t eat garlic and onions to an Italian restaurant and then repeats the same review at marea. Seems like Sergio needs a new dining companion.

Very nice place with beautiful ambiance, food is just OK, nothing amazing, nice service too.
