Reviews
I think some food options were limited due to their beliefs, which I respect. I usually ate outside anyway, but the hostel offers a simple American-style breakfast, which is nice to have.
The only negative point was that the room was quite small, so the space to move around was limited. However, considering the price, it offers good value for money. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.
It's like unspoken but they're very strict about no noise between 9pm-9am, which is weird given windows were kept open so all outside noise came in. Also a lot of alarms were set early morning, but the weirdest is hearing the staff waking up people who snore, I think even one was trying to force open a door given the guest was not waking up.
I stayed 3 nights, on all 3 nights I was awaken not by the street noises or the snoring, but the staff waking up the snoring people.
You can hear everything, from breathing, packing, scratching, humming. If you can afford to find an hotel further out in Brooklyn for like 30% a night more than here, I would recommend you to go elsewhere. If you're young and want to be in times square to not commute, this is your place. For an hostel, guests here were kind of minding their own business so theres no much opportunity to socialize as a solo traveler.
But for being in NYC, it's affordable.
The location is excellent, close to major train and subway intersections, which makes getting around the city very easy. The neighborhood feels safe and well connected.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The open kitchen is a great asset and helps save money on food if needed. You can find basic items like bread, jam, peanut butter, milk, cereals, cottage cheese, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, and even small freshly baked cakes available daily.
Please note that the rooms are small and have open ceilings. The staff does their best to keep the apartment quiet, but of course, some noise is unavoidable.
Highly recommended. If you agree to the terms and conditions when you book, you will know that this is a hostel with some limitations, not a hotel. Then this place will definitely not disappoint.
The location is amazing! Walking distance from times square, madison square garden, penn station, empire state building and many more!
The pod was great for me as a solo traveler with no luggage. The bed was comfortable, I am not a tall person and for me it was goodz not sure how it will be for taller people. In the room you get a fresh clean bed, 2 towels, a lot of storage space, good lightning, a small fan and earplugs.
I haven't used the breakfast but I have noticed it was always packed with goodies and was always available for the guests.
The WiFi was strong and had no problem.
Shared bathrooms and showers were always available and always clean, no
problems with hot water.
The do keep order at night and keep the quiet, which I loved.
Drinking water are available at all time free of charge!
When I checked out they gave me a small present, it was a heartwarming surprise!
I would recommend stay here and would definitely come back as a guest myself!
