Safe, warm, and very friendly hostel. The location is excellent and very convenient for exploring the city. It is run by kind and helpful people, and I really liked the sincere and welcoming atmosphere. The place was clean and quiet, which made my stay comfortable.

I think some food options were limited due to their beliefs, which I respect. I usually ate outside anyway, but the hostel offers a simple American-style breakfast, which is nice to have.

The only negative point was that the room was quite small, so the space to move around was limited. However, considering the price, it offers good value for money. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

I had an amazing time here! So clean, friendly, convenient. I love that they give back to the community as well so your money is going to good project. Food is available 24/7 and staff is always around. Kept very clean. Everyone super hospitable and welcoming. Can’t say enough good things about it!! It does get a bit noisy at night (people coming and going), but they provide ear plugs!!

It's pretty quiet for a hostel. Rooms are much smaller than I expected, and quite pricy for what it offers other than being at a great location. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Shared restrooms and showers are surprisingly clean.

It's like unspoken but they're very strict about no noise between 9pm-9am, which is weird given windows were kept open so all outside noise came in. Also a lot of alarms were set early morning, but the weirdest is hearing the staff waking up people who snore, I think even one was trying to force open a door given the guest was not waking up.

I stayed 3 nights, on all 3 nights I was awaken not by the street noises or the snoring, but the staff waking up the snoring people.

You can hear everything, from breathing, packing, scratching, humming. If you can afford to find an hotel further out in Brooklyn for like 30% a night more than here, I would recommend you to go elsewhere. If you're young and want to be in times square to not commute, this is your place. For an hostel, guests here were kind of minding their own business so theres no much opportunity to socialize as a solo traveler.

But for being in NYC, it's affordable.

Great place to stay if you’re looking for a worth-recommending hostel in the center of Manhattan. The rooms are very small, but overall satisfactory — especially if you’re not planning to spend much time inside 🙂

The location is excellent, close to major train and subway intersections, which makes getting around the city very easy. The neighborhood feels safe and well connected.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The open kitchen is a great asset and helps save money on food if needed. You can find basic items like bread, jam, peanut butter, milk, cereals, cottage cheese, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, and even small freshly baked cakes available daily.

Please note that the rooms are small and have open ceilings. The staff does their best to keep the apartment quiet, but of course, some noise is unavoidable.

Highly recommended. If you agree to the terms and conditions when you book, you will know that this is a hostel with some limitations, not a hotel. Then this place will definitely not disappoint.

I enjoyed Interfaith retreats so much that I extended my stay, the staff was so helpful, Alex, Aseem, Leo, Yana, Alice, Jeremy and the rest!
The location is amazing! Walking distance from times square, madison square garden, penn station, empire state building and many more!
The pod was great for me as a solo traveler with no luggage. The bed was comfortable, I am not a tall person and for me it was goodz not sure how it will be for taller people. In the room you get a fresh clean bed, 2 towels, a lot of storage space, good lightning, a small fan and earplugs.
I haven't used the breakfast but I have noticed it was always packed with goodies and was always available for the guests.
The WiFi was strong and had no problem.
Shared bathrooms and showers were always available and always clean, no
problems with hot water.
The do keep order at night and keep the quiet, which I loved.
Drinking water are available at all time free of charge!
When I checked out they gave me a small present, it was a heartwarming surprise!
I would recommend stay here and would definitely come back as a guest myself!

I’ve had a great experience, everyone was friendly especially the staff. The rooms were clean, the building was safe. Honestly it has all you need if you just need a room to sleep in the heart of manhattan. My only comment is that my legs didn’t fit in the bad as it was a little small for me ( btw I’m 6.1)

Thanks so much to Alfred, Sunny, Ravi and team - I had a great stay! You were so welcoming, always available and happy to help. The location is great - super convenient for travel from/to JFK, lots of subway stations nearby too, but also super central for walking around Manhattan (it’s just a few minutes walk from Madison Square Gardens). I came across a really nice mix of fellow guests. The space is as described, it's lovely, clean and calm, whilst you can hear others coming and going, everyone is respectful and as quiet as possible and disturbance is minimal. Bring flip flops to help organise yourself in the ‘cosy’ shared bathroom and make sure you tuck into the fab breakfasts - lots of lovely fruit, bagels and the home made muffins, cookies and extra treats - they are gorgeous! Last but certainly not least, I loved staying here as it helped Interfaith in their great work offering spiritual practise and supporting the homeless community - you really get that sense of love and kindness when you’re there. Thank you for a lovely stay, I will be back!

It's fine to just sleep as I did, the rooms are quite small and the bathrooms are shared so they are clean depending on whether people use them well, otherwise you'll find surprises, the staff is kind and gives you all the information you need. they serve, top location a few minutes from Time Square

I just spent three nights at this interesting hostel in NY. I enjoyed it very much. I ended up booking myself into this place because of the crazy prices of hotels in NY. And what a pleasant surprise! Of course, you have to be ready for a different experience. It is NOT a regular hotel. It suitable only for people travelling alone and you have to be happy with the basic minimum. No luxury at all. But you get a clean "pod" with everything you need for a good night sleep. Despite the pod being individual, soundwise you are not completely isolated from the other pods and so you are able to listen to anything is said in the other pods including.....snoring!:-) But nothing that a set of earplugs (provided by the management) cannot solve. And people are very respectful and keep quiet. The shared restrooms and showers are perfectly functional and clean. The 24/7 breakfast is simple but sufficient (plenty of fruit, cereals, juice, milk, yogurt). No coffee! Only tea and hot chocolate. And the spiritual touch invites you to meditate about what is important in life (books provided in your pod) and how many things we have are simply not necessary. If you are ready for something different and like travelling of the beaten tracks and do not need luxury....this could be your place! Plus...location is amazingly convenient. Literally 5 min walking from Penn station. And if you want to experience a Knicks game (as I did!), you just walk to the MSG. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Sweet place, quiet, simple, clean, friendly staff. I stayed a few nights at Interfaith Retreats. They had a nice breakfast and also let me store my luggage before and after my arrival for free. It was also in the heart of the city, so that was a plus.
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
Think about what you would like to know if you were looking for a review about a place to relax. Please describe in detail what you liked and what you didn't. Would be a zero stars if an option. My wife and I went and grabbed a sandwich and a cheese and cracker combo from the place before we boarded our train. When we opened the cheese and crackers there was mold over the cheese and grapes. Very nasty and unacceptable. If it wasn't for the train leaving I would have given them a piece of my mind. There packages have no made on or remove by date. Complete garabage. I will be disputing all charges.

Very friendly staff. Food wasn't fresh and seemed a little old

Good store. Decent prices. Not long waits.

friendly service and way more than cappuccino. It's basically a mini store under MSG. Prices are reasonable but higher than other areas because of the location as you'd expect.

Bad service tonight, 9 Jan 2017, @9:45pm, at the drinks bar, manager was closing register and just pointed to go over the other register because this is closed. No smile, bad attitude. We have all worked a hard long day, and customer service and a smile go a long way, even in NYC.

Otherwise the service is always great.

Came in today with a coworker for lunch. Just started working in One Penn Plaza, so this was my first trip to Lugo. Had the veal milanese which was quite tasty. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The GM checked in on us and was quite the people person. All in all, I'm glad this restaurant is right below me everyday I work....... sure beats the corner hotdog!

Came here before the Marc Anthony concert. Place was busy, but the service was wonderful. Food was really, REALLY good, especially considering where this restaurant is located.... right across the street from the Garden. My wife and I couldn't have been happier with our service (thanks Jackie), food, AND treatment by management. Danny and Dave went out of their way to make our dining most pleasurable. Thanks to everyone at Lugo. We will most definitely be back!

Best place in the area to dine. Breaking news...... the AC seems to be fixed. That was the only reason this place was to be avoided in the dead of summer. Now you can come year round to get good food and great service all set in a charming atmosphere.

Great waitress, good food. However 90 degrees in New York City today air conditioning not working. Apparently this happens every summer. Dine in the summer at your own risk. No attempt by management to even comp a cool drink.

*** Received a call from management with apologies for the discomfort and assurances that they are resolving the issues. He insisted on speaking to us personally instead of responding in a cold email.

Food was amazing, definitely worth the price. Make sure you come prepared to spend. Great location and indoor and outdoor seating, and the wine selections are great.
