The Carpenter Hotel in Austin

Overall I had a nice stay. Property was beautiful and vibey, staff was friendly, great location walkable to the trail and Zilker park.

Couple issues that seem fixable for the future:

- Was disappointed by the lack of any substantial vegan-friendly food options on the premises. Only menu items at the restaurant were crudite and side potatoes (not a meal). Most places of this caliber/price-point at least offer a veggie patty substitution, or have 1 meaningfully designed vegan hot entree. I went for breakfast and ordered the avocado toast, which comes with eggs and cheese. I asked if I could sub those out for potatoes to fill out the meal a bit, which they happily did. But they still charged me full price for the avo toast as if I'd gotten eggs + full price for a side of potatoes. That with a drip coffee ended up costing $40 for 1 person.

- SE side of the building is directly above a dog boarding facility. Incessant loud barking started 5am and didn’t really stop all day. The provided ear plugs and sound machine didn’t do much to drown it out. Staff were super accommodating when I asked to move to the opposite side of the hotel. But I can’t imagine how anyone in that part of the hotel is sleeping well. Not Carpenter's fault who their neighbors are, but maybe they could look at building extra sound proofing into those rooms

Good hotel, great vibe and service

The Carpenter was a great stay. Very cool. Writing this mainly to shout out one front desk staff member in particular - Bianca! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and settled. Thank you Bianca for your care.

Stayed here for a “staycation” weekend and had a nice time. The rooms are pretty standard and small but everything is redone / new (especially the bathrooms). The room also has a nice patio. Everything was very intentionally done and clear to use (I.e. the board outlining all the amenities).

The overall grounds are really nice with a pool, coffee shop, and a place to eat. We loved the plant aesthetic!

The service was great too and when we told them about a small issue in our room, they not only corrected it quickly but also comped a night of parking.

Would stay here again, plus the location is great!

The hotel took care of us really well especially during the blizzard. The rooms had great insulation and were quiet. The rooms were spacious with concrete floors (so maybe ask for slippers?). The attached coffee shop is a great place to work or to get a cup, while the restaurant is a great place to unwind or to eat properly. The bed was reasonably comfortable as well. The closet situation is a little weird (fully open).

I want to take a moment to recognize Sailor at The Carpenter Hotel. I had a situation during my stay, and she took incredibly good care of me. Not only did she fix the issue, she truly went above and beyond.

What stood out the most was how she listened. She made me feel genuinely heard and seen, and instead of just offering an apology, she provided a real solution with kindness and care. That level of attention and humanity makes all the difference when you’re a guest.

I truly appreciate her support and the way she handled everything. Experiences like this are what make a hotel memorable. Thank you, Sailor.

The best place to stay in Austin best customer service and the place is perfect to walk everywhere and enjoy the weekend.
The coffee shop is so charming and the best coffee and matcha lattes.

Welcome was great and very informative. Luke at the bar was so engaging with my mom & I. The whole staff is great!

The staff here is always amazing, super nice, and accommodating. The rooms are always very clean. It’s a great location. Only good things to say about this place.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Also, they gave me a pass to a local gym. I will definitely return!
