DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Antonio Downtown in San Antonio

The front desk isn’t friendly nor welcoming. The pool was closed the entire time, and snack bar was empty. They are not very informative, and find any little reason to up charge you. Parking is $30 a day, and breakfast is $20 a person. STAY ELSEWHERE. Also, you CANNOT walk to the riverwalk from here without crossing a literally freeway, and they don’t have a walkable sidewalk the growth of weeds and trash you can hardly see what your even walking on.

Get a different Hotel. This place was a huge mess. If I could go back I would have chosen a better place.

We originally chose Doubletree because of the name. We have stayed at Doubletree in the past and Ben very comfortable in interstate and pleased with the appearance of the buildings. Unfortunately, this building is more suited to a 1980s motel six than it is a Doubletree, Let me clarify.
First starting off a room was close to $200 per day. And that did not include parking, or include our pets. Both of which had an additional fee per day.
We were in room 306, on our way to that room from the lobby we entered into one of the two elevators they have. Both elevators need severe maintenance. They both shimmy and shake probably because the tracks are misaligned. They also are missing their pic polycarbonate between the lighting and the cabin. What this means is when you look up while standing in the elevator, you get to see the years of dust that has accumulate. The room was clean however Unfortunately the bathroom door was stuck on the carpet and refused to close unless you use a crow bar. Once in the bathroom the sink didn’t drain and when taking a shower the tub would fill up and refused to drain as well. Next we move onto the parking that was in abundance, at a rate of $30 per day for my vehicle. Somehow, the management had decided that the nearly $200 a day was not enough. Our pets incurred an additional fee of $75, and $50 per pet deposit. All things considered I would not stay at this hotel again under any circumstance. The candlewood would’ve been better suited

Cockroaches reviews are real! I witnessed it first hand.

I read the comments prior to arriving. I checked in and went straight to grab dinner. Upon returning, I saw a cockroach walking across the night stand that was in between the two beds. The second night, I found another one walking across the TV screen.

I was a little hesitant about the cleanliness. There was a lot of dust and I was weary about eating at the restaurant knowing there were cockroaches in the hotel.

The hotel was beautiful, and the lobby was stunning. It was just disappointing to see the lack of cleanliness in the rooms 😬

Room was not clean, no shower curtain, broken phone, mold on wall, and they kept charging my card for parking
