Extended Stay America San Antonio North in San Antonio

My recent “attempted” stay at Extended Stay America - San Antonio - North was deeply frustrating and unacceptable, particularly given the property’s focus on extended stays where cleanliness is essential for comfort and health. The room’s condition upon arrival was far below basic standards, with multiple areas showing clear neglect in housekeeping and maintenance. This left me feeling uncomfortable and regretting my choice of accommodation. The bathroom was the most concerning area. The toilet had visible hairs, black specks, and residue around the rim and base, indicating it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. The bathtub’s caulking in the corners displayed dark mold spots and discoloration, which is not only unsightly but also a potential health hazard. Additionally, the wall near the floor had black streaks that appeared to be dirt or mold buildup, further contributing to an overall sense of grime. The provided linens and furniture were equally problematic. A towel showed a distinct brown stain along the edge, raising serious doubts about the hygiene of the laundry process. In the workspace, the office chair was marred by multiple dark stains and spills on the seat and back, making it unusable without discomfort. The couch in the seating area had a large, damp-looking stain on the cushion, which was off-putting and made relaxing impossible.. When I addressed these issues with staff, the response was polite but I decided to check out and not stay. For a hotel chain like Extended Stay America, this level of upkeep is inexcusable, especially at the rates charged. I strongly advise potential guests to consider alternatives in San Antonio, as this property falls short of even minimal expectations for cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, 1 out of 5 stars – a complete letdown that warrants immediate attention from management.

Wall lights in room not working, the room has a recliner that looks like they found it for free on a sidewalk, same for the office chair, no in room trash can. Room was pretty clean though and very large.

One night stay.
Easy parking. Rough towels. Leaky shower fixture. Curtains with holes, old carpet in hallway. Clean lobby area. Bed felt old.

AC was moisty, sheets were dirty along with pillows! Restroom was dirty and couch was coming apart. Blow dryer did not work.

Door would not lock, door was open at arrival. They gave me a room at the very end of a very seedy hall, dingy carpets. The smell of cigarettes my nostrils RoVery much *********

We needed a new room when checking in because the recliner was broken. The new room still had sticky floors and brown muck in the bathroom. The room smelled moldy. We only stayed two of the three nights booked and left early.

This has been by far the worst room I have ever checked in to.
I don’t understand how ******* allows people to book at this property.
Let’s start by walking in and seeing dirt and trash on top of the fridge, then sliding on a greasy floor and sticky carpet, the microwave was broken and missing parts, the tv screen was blue on every channel, there was blood stains on the bed skirt, there was spit stains with blood on the wall, crumbs and trash around the bed, under the bed there was trash, excessive hair, a used drug baggie, and dried Mac & cheese. There was greasy face marks on the window, water leak marks and unfinished repairs on the ceiling, the bathroom tub had some dirty marks on it, there was "brown matter" on the wall. The door look was broken and modified, and no manager on site to help.
People staying there in lobby looked homeless. We checked in and immediately checked out, and still working on getting a refund.
