Hotel Gumbaz in Samarkand

We stayed one night and I booked two cabins because we were 3 people and each cabin is only for 2 people. It is not good if you are planning to visit samarkand, I booked it to sleep one night coming back from Shahrizab and attracted by the photos of the pools (we have a 9 year old child). The pools belong to the complex Vavilon, a sort of water park with pools. The slides work opening up by hand the water flow, which they rarely did, and worst of all, the slides do not finish by falling into a pool. No security, no maintenance of the common areas (you should see the sides of the pools), smoking is allowed when it is a place for children, and loud music from 10 am to 11 pm. It is not good combination when having a hostel and loud music all day long next to it. Attention women, at the entrance of the water park, there is a picture with dress code. No bikini, no bathing suites from europe are acceptable here. No one will tell you anything, but you will feel out of place, so I decided not to use the pools myself. Water with plastics, no maintenance at all.
To get to the cabins, you have to enter by the Vavilon water complex then, literary cross through the kitchen (that area is particularly badly kept). We had cabin 7 and 5. No sheets provided, just a regular duvet (not very clean), cabin 5 with a lock about to break. The bathroom has a drain in the middle of the shower area and a plastic caroel to prevent sleepery floor (all covered in water when having a shower). Let' s not talk about what we found under the one in cabin 7. It felt non hygenic the entire thing. The gentelman running it is a good man and tries to help (he even paid for our taxi to the station), but the standards of quality I have are from a different planet.
