Don't stay there. I've never been in a hotel that bad, and I've been to a lot of different hotels in Vietnam and Asia in general. The rooms were extremely dirty. There were stains on the furniture and the door to the bathroom were covered with a layer of filth. There was mold and grime in the shower too and the drain was clogged. It certainly added to the fact that you can't open or close the bathroom door without stepping into the shower. If anyone bigger in size stayed there, I doubt they would be able to use the bathroom at all. The cherry on tops were the rat family living in the celling/ vents. I would rather stay farther from the centre than in this filth.

Also, it didn't happen to me so I can't be 100% sure it's true, but one of the families in our groups had to pay for water from the minibar. It was in the fridge that was stuck and didn't open earlier when they wanted to put their groceries in there. The water was full, just opened. It wasn't expensive, but we have been told it happens a lot in the hotel

I stayed at Hồng Hà Hotel as part of my Northern Vietnam tour with Vietravel. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. When we arrived, the elevator was going to be under maintenance, yet we were allocated a room on the 6th floor. Even on the 6th floor, there were still stairs to climb, which made the hotel definitely not wheelchair-friendly.

I had to leave early and asked the staff to store my luggage for about one hour. They simply told us to leave it next to a pillar, without offering any secure storage or assistance. When we returned, the luggage was still exactly where we had left it, completely unsecured and accessible to anyone, which felt unsafe and unprofessional.

The room itself was acceptable, clean and not too bad overall. However, the walkway inside the room was very narrow, making it difficult to open and organize our luggage comfortably.

The only real positive point is the location. The hotel is within walking distance (about 15 minutes) of Hoàn Kiếm Lake, which is convenient for sightseeing.

The worst hotel during my travel in Vietnam. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights (29 - 31 March 2025) via Trip.com at December 2024. I am travelling with elder and 3 years old kid and we arrived at the hotel at night after arrived from Sa Pa sleeper bus around 10.30PM, and just to find out that the hotel is full and no rooms left. First, they told me that my booking was not confirmed yet, and I showed them booking confirmation email from Trip.com. Second, they told me that the hotel is not partnered with Trip.com, then I chat the Trip.com customer service right away to confirm, and turned out it is true that Trip.com is their partner, then I confront with the hotel statement, and the hotel apologize to give me false information. And then I was waiting without any certainty for around 2 hours, you can imagine it, in the middle of the night, with elder and kid, tired and nowhere to stay. I am trying to solve the issue with Trip.com customer service which is very helpful, trying to find me another alternative hotel nearby. In the end I booked nearby hotel with very high price because the only room left that can accomodate my group was the suite type room, and finally we can rest nearly 01.00AM. My assumption, this issue is because I am not arriving at their hotel to check in until late night, they sell my rooms for another customer, to gain more profit, because it is on the weekend and the demand is high, and they don’t expect me to show up. I am very disappointed with Hong Ha hotel, and not recommend this hotel to anyone, please beware with this hotel!!!!! I screenshot the booking to prove that my review is true and not lie, with some censored on the price.

It's just so-so. The room facilities are a bit shabby.

There are many unreasonable settings in the hotel
For example, the bathroom is very small and it is difficult to turn around.
It is inconvenient to open the hotel door lock with a key
The hotel didn't even provide toilet paper
Breakfast was average, not much to eat
I have to climb stairs while dragging my suitcase 😂
But the service attitude of the front desk staff is quite good
I won't consider it later.

The hotel was located close to the station and the Hanoi Opera House was about a 10-minute walk away. Although the facility was old, it gave the impression that it was well maintained.
However, the smell of cigarettes in the room and the smell of cigarettes coming into my room was a bit uncomfortable.
The staff were very friendly and provided ample information on using the hotel facilities and the surrounding geography and tourist attractions. Breakfast was also excellent for the price.
