Vida Loca Sunset Beach Resort in Phu Quoc Island

This was such a fantastic stay! Both our rooms were clean and comfortable (we upgraded to a bungalow which was so worth it!) The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was yummy and fresh every morning. We ate there most of the time as the food and drinks at their restaurant are so good and the view is amazing. The private beach was always clean and relaxing on the loungers was really one of my highlights, plus the swing in the palm tree! The location is very convenient as there are so many coffee shops, grocery and souvenir stores as well as spas to walk to. Really a great stay, I would highly recommend!

This is not a place designed to impress at first glance.
Its true value only reveals itself after you've spent some time here.

The journey in is deliberately slow.
You first encounter a small courtyard — not huge, but large enough to create a distinct boundary. The outside world is muted here; sounds, pace, and emotions are all filtered.

Push open the door, and you're in the living room. Leather sofas, a low-saturation presence. The refrigerator is embedded on one side, inconspicuous but always there. The lighting doesn't emphasize design, only that it's 'just enough.' The space doesn't express emotion, it simply provides order.

The flow is very clean. The bathroom is in the upper left corner, marginalized. You'll use it, but it won't interrupt your experience.

The bedroom is placed further inside. Not for display, but for retreat. A zone so quiet it’s almost wordless.

The bed experience is central. Firm support, no unnecessary softness. When you lie down, you're not enveloped, but aligned. Soon, you'll lose your sense of time — unaware of when you fall asleep, and not particularly wanting to know when you wake.

The space here doesn't cater to emotions. It simply provides a clean enough environment for you to process everything yourself.

Walking to the seaside, you encounter another kind of 'emptiness.' The clouds are low, the wind is gentle, the sea is almost undramatic. There's no deliberate attempt to create romance, yet you might find yourself stopping in a moment.

Swings, rocks, the coastline — they are all tools, not protagonists.

Breakfast follows the same logic. Hot soup, rice, simple side dishes, plus an iced drink. No ceremonial design, but a perfect combination. Sitting by the sea, you don't need to think about anything. This feels more sophisticated than any 'exquisite plating.'

The service here is understated. You won't be frequently disturbed, nor will you receive excessive attention. Everything is maintained at just the right distance.

So, it's not for everyone — it's not lively, it doesn't try to please, it doesn't offer social value.

But if you need:
Quiet, a pause, detachment, even a sense of fading away —

It works.

It only provides a space for people to slowly rediscover themselves.

The room has a small balcony next to the pool with a direct sea view. The overall facilities in the resort are excellent, and you can enjoy dinner right on the beach. Plus, there's a popular bar right next door.

Great convenient location, very decent breakfasts, excellent coffee, helpful staff. Drawbacks- no room for drying clothes (swimsuits in particular) if you have a room, not a bungalow and only one person could understand and speak English in the restaurant.

Compared to the sea-view room we had for the past two days, this room was a definite downgrade. The soundproofing was terrible, but at least it was cheap.

The staff is really helpfull and nice, the breakfast is good and changes everyday.
We had a great time there, we have appreciated the location and the supermarket nearby.
