Van Nam Hotel in Halong

The only good thing about this hotel is its location close to the amusement park, restaurants and seafront. Everything else is terrible. The staff are unfriendly hostile and most cannot speak English. The breakfast is awful and has little variety, stone cold coffee that tastes awful. This is the only hotel we stayed in Vietnam that does not provide free water or coffee in the room. The room is smelly, the curtains are filthy and the bed lumpy and uncomfortable. Room service are non existent. My advice would be to avoid this hotel at all costs. The worst hotel we stayed in during our two weeks in Vietnam.

Horrible hotel ! I check-in on 06Jun 2018. 9th floor was given. Pressed for the lift and was told lift maintenance till 5pm. Ok , i believe their words. 5pm passed, lift still not ok and i have to walk up to 9th floor. Asked for lower floor, occupied as was told. Did asked for refund but hotel flatly rejected. When checked out at 12noon , lift still not in service. Noticed too, as walked up the stairs, bedroom linens strewn all over the staircase. What the hell are the chambermaids doing !
