Vila Brais Hotel in Durres

A very quiet hotel with a mosque very close by

Odic accommodation is clean and beautiful... Breakfast is not worth criticizing...

Definitely luxury style rooms, a firm bed, good air con, fridge in the room. Breakfast was a bit average though (not really hot at all) for such a nice hotel.

However, the absolute star of the place is the 4th floor balcony seating area, which has SPECTACULAR views of the amphitheatre, the old city wall, the Italian coast, and town, including a ruined old house. (The double glazing in the rooms means you don't hear the mussin from the mosque)

It was great to sit on this balcony and watch sunset, have a drink, and listened to a musical performance coming from the amphitheatre (probably).

Excellent Hotel. Highly recommend. The person at the reception was very helpful. It is city centre, all amenities are nearby.

The hotel is located in the heart of the small port town Durres, Albania. Old classic style could be rated between middle range and luxury class hotel. The room not the biggest one, however comfortable with twin of king bed. In the room also is small work desk. Classic design bathroom. The room is not provided with the coffee facilities, however the cattle is available as well as small fridge. Friendly staff is ready to help if needed. It should be noted that not all staff fluently speaks English, but this does not create a language barrier as there are at least one of the staff speaking fluently English. From the hotel within walking distance is Port and waterfront walk way. Toi the hotel is attached a restaurant can be accessed via hotel entrance or from the street. The restaurant is spread in two floors as well has a little internal terrace.

Stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all really friendly, the buffet breakfast was excellent and the housekeeping staff did a great job. Lovely rooftop terrace with great views. Booked a taxi for our departure also. Would definitely use it again. David and Karen Scotland.

Initially I was dropped off at the cafe entrance and it was closed but the manager quickly came around the corner and brought me to the reception which was very nice & gave a great first impression. The hotel is in a little side street but the location is great, less than 5 mins to the beach (the beach here was barely a beach though) restaurants & amenities.
The manager is super helpful and had great recommendations. The room is spacious, high ceiling, clean with mod cons. Bathroom had cute antique style tap & shower. My key card stopped working one day but they were able to give me their actual metal key to use, because of this they weren’t able to get into my room to clean it as I had the only key. There is a mosque close by so every so often you can hear some singing which is cool.
They have a sister hotel further in Durres - Hotel Bleart, which you can use the facilities of free of charge. I went there one day and it was great. They have a huge pool and pool side area, right on the beach (you get loungers and umbrella for free) & also a pier bar which was super nice. Brais was great value and very comfortable. I would stay here again but will probably opt to stay at the Bleart as they have more facilities and right on the beach.

Pros:
Check in process was super quick.
Huge room. The bed is very comfy and a king size.
International and USB plug sockets.
Free big bottle of water on arrival & everyday you stay.
Coffee at breakfast was good & the waiter is lovely.
Big desk with plush chair to put toiletries, make up etc & get ready.
Make up light in the mirror in bathroom. Nice shower.
Receptionist was really nice and helpful.
Cleaning lady was attentive.

Cons:
Tv wires hanging down from tv. It’s a SMART tv but I couldn’t get it working, which was a shame as it was huge!
Broken toilet seat.
Air con is loud.
Only got shampoo toiletries.
No gym, pool or other amenities.
Kettle was broken and I asked to get it fixed but management forgot to.
Breakfast while huge was not the freshest - the fruit was decaying every day. Some days they have a buffet and it seems like it would be left there from the day before. It was the same thing everyday.

We chose this hotel for its location and available parking. We booked two rooms for five people, and they put us on the fourth floor, one of which was near the terrace overlooking the mosque. We thought the sounds from the mosque would keep us awake in the morning, but we couldn't hear them. The terrace overlooks the ancient walls, the sea, and the ancient amphitheater. In the evening, it's pleasant to drink wine and sit at the tables. The rooms are larger, the beds are comfortable, and everything is tastefully decorated. We had breakfast reservations; we arrived, ordered from the menu, and then had to wait—it was inconvenient; we wasted a lot of time waiting for the waiter to bring our order. But that only lasted for two days; the hotel increased in number, and they started serving a buffet on the second floor.

Great hotel, with clean and spacious rooms. Fantastic location near Albanian College Durrës, the amphitheatre and main Street of Durrës. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk.

Breakfast is amazing and the staff are warm, friendly and very, very helpful!

Very great location in the middle of durazz town and the sea part, excellent room, clean and high quality standard. Downstairs a nice restaurant whit a good price, lovely staff. I had very big breakfast whit waffles, pancakes, fruit, croissant and all the rest !! Very fabulous.. after that I couldn't eat nothing!! Really thanks to marvie (general manager of the H) him was very helpful! For everything (night life/places to visit/) :) i hope to come back soon!
