Hotel Vola in Sarande

I tried to stay at this hotel and had a reservation booked for months. Then 6 days before I was due to stay there, they cancelled my reservation stating invalid card. My card was working fine and had used it to stay at other places when they replied to me after my message to understand why they said it was their system. Anyway this left me 6 days to find another hotel at the same value which I found and had an unpleasant stay there as the hotel did not seem to be at the same quality as hotel Vola. So please be aware that this hotel could cancel your reservation some days before you arrive.

Nightmare stay, we arrived and first of all the person who we believe was the owner spoke neither Italian nor English (as written in the booking description), no one knew how to give us information about our room, then they made us pay in the fast food restaurant next door because they didn't have the POS for the card. The living room then goes from bad to worse, the bathroom unworthy for a 4 star hotel with no division between the shower tray and the rest of the bathroom (see attached photo) and without a bidet as it was described. Over 4 nights the room was cleaned only 1 time and at our request (shameful), towels always changed at our request (always see attached photo). Furthermore, the room appeared to be in a state of reconstruction as there were power cords hanging from the walls. In the morning breakfast with uncovered food on which flies rested and the coffee was only the one inside the container as to have an espresso we were asked for 1 euro more, also poor choice of food. Nobody spoke either Italian or English, we had to try to communicate with Google Translate and they didn't understand that way either. Reception non-existent, on booking it says 24 hours a day but perhaps they meant that there was no one there 24 hours a day... I'll finish by saying that there was an incredibly intrusive valet, so much so that at a certain point we found him in the room to tell us that we had left our car lights on and demanded that we buy him a beer.
