Hilltop Heaven Hotel in Sarande

Ridiculously expensive compared to the rest of Albania, worn-out beach chairs that cost a fortune. Small stone beach, deep right away. Compared to the rest of Albanian beaches, more of a hell than a heaven. Food, portions that a mouse wouldn't have enough of, for an elephant's price. Get out of here quickly.

I warn against this hotel. The hotel is far from the city, on the mountain. Luckily we had only booked for one night. Unfortunately we couldn't reach the hotel because it is only accessible via unpaved roads and an extremely steep driveway. We decided not to drive any further up and booked a hotel in the city instead. As we discovered, there is no place to eat out or do anything in the evening near the hotel. In our opinion, driving down the road to the hotel at night in the dark is life-threatening. We were lucky and spontaneously got a great room right on the beach and therefore had a lovely stay in Sarande. The Hilltop Heaven Hotel did not at least partially waive the costs as a gesture of goodwill but debited the money immediately. We have subsequently read other reviews that have had similar experiences with this hotel and we can only advise against booking here.
