Vanatun Monastery Stay Hotel in Dilijan

After seeing the Hagartsin Monastery, we walked up the hill to check out the Vanatun Restaurant.
I have to say that for a very remote location like this, the food was amazing. I would say it is better than eating in the city. Great menu selection, and everything we ordered was super fresh. Highly recommend eating here after your visit to Hagartsin. Seat and enjoy incredible food with most wonderful scenic views.

We came in this restaurant after a very long hiking day and it was a gem! Very friendly people,speaking English and the most delicious local food we had in armenia. Very nice ladies. I wish we had booked our stay there.

When I was in this hotel back in February I didn't fully realize how great my experience was. But now I fully understand how amazing the hosts are, how tasty the food is, how perfect the stay in this hotel feels. Thanks a lot for creating a perfect experience for the guests!

Pros Magnificent Beautiful location, picturesque views, clean rooms. We took a superior room - there were no neighbors, but there was a toilet for two rooms. The staff is very nice, they always meet halfway, they made us feel very welcome. Thank you very much for the pleasant experience. The mattresses are good, the linen is new. There is a waterfall nearby, you can walk there, you can take a driver. There is a complex of ancient restored churches in the area, there are a lot of tourists, but this does not interfere with the silence and tranquility. In the dining room they provide Coffee and tea all day, sometimes fruit. You can have dinner outside. Cons For some, this may be a disadvantage, but it wasn’t for us: lack of TV and Wi-Fi (except for Reception) Very slippery floor in the bathroom, especially when the shower is damp; the shower is not comfortable, water always leaks. I washed the floor right away and it was still very slippery! The young girl at the reception speaks virtually no language other than Armenian. Calls on the phone all the time to resolve any issue. It takes time. Not once during the entire stay did she even say hello. But the rest of the staff are great! As for the dinner (the cook is a nice girl, it’s clear that she’s trying) - it’s not at all clear how they think about it. One day it could be 4000, another 5000. Although I didn’t see any difference. For food 4-. I can’t say that I liked the food, much less delighted it (as in other reviews). Breakfast is not varied, only instant coffee. The only plus of dinner is the vegetable salads. After Yerevan, a kind of detox did not bother us at all. Very noisy on the second floor near the main staircase. Children run and scream until 22-23 hours, until you disperse. The chairs on the terrace are also very creaky and, for some reason, are the center of attraction for people late in the evening. We stayed in room 240, and believe me, it was very noisy. Perhaps we were just unlucky. There are no restaurants or cafes nearby. Only cute houses where you can drink coffee (I warn you right away, if you like strong coffee, you better not be disappointed), but there is excellent honey wine. The taste is simply amazing! They also sell their own honey. You can drink delicious herbal tea and eat gata (national Armenian pastry). I highly recommend trying it with brie cheese and apricot. It’s cool in the evening, we walked in closed clothes and this cannot but please us. We slept with the windows wide open and there was not a single mosquito. There is a bee farm nearby, but we saw bees very rarely. In general, we will come back again, only with our own slippers (not slippery) and earplugs. But overall, the place is excellent. We recommend!

This place is fabulous-the reception team going above and beyond and making sure you are all set, super yummy breakfasts and dinners and of course the location's overall proximity to different places of interest and Haghartsin Monastery.

Very comfortable, clean and new hotel in the middle of the forest next to the monestary.
Excellent breakfast and dinner - the best we got in Armenia. Reasonable prices. Shower with strong water pressure. Nothing more you can ask for.
By purpose there is no TV nor WiFi.
