Reviews
The room is on the smaller side but comfortable, clean, and felt very safe and secure for our family. It’s also close to shopping areas and nearby parks, which our kids really enjoyed.
Our only small concern is that the breakfast selection was almost the same each day, but the food quality was good overall.
It’s a shame there’s no pool.
For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful.
Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too.
The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. And this was the only down side I can think of, other than that, I had a perfect stay!
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
Steak was great, but too much mash potato and some accompanying sauce would have been good. Salmon was tasty. Service level wasn't fantastic though, although I noticed that about 2-3 work Chrissy functions were in there at the same time and the staff weren't a bit stretched.
The chocolate dessert I think should have been warmed, but was cold. It would have been a bit better with some sauce inside it like the chocolate volcano style desserts I've had elsewhere as it felt it was missing something.
The second choice creme caramel dessert was nicer, but a bit too much sugar.
Allocating 4 stars because I've had good meals in the other restaurants in the Nick's chain and expect this would be substantially better experience if I'd been visiting normally with my wife.
I had some reservations about going to Adria after reading some reviews. Our experience was certainly memorable from our welcome at the entry to leaving. The food quality & taste was sensational as too the portions were more than generous for two people. The rotisserie lamb & beef were perfectly seasoned , tasty melt in your mouth stuff. I was concerned about having a set menu but honestly couldn't have ordered better.
The service by no means silver service as this is a relaxed casual dining restaurant & bar was impeccable! We did not need to ask for any extras as they included a full variety of sauces with the meal. Wait staff noticed when drinks were low & asked if we wanted more which were served promptly.
I really can't speak highly enough about our lunchtime experience at Adria.
The service was not too bad but the staff are inexpereinced. The waitress hit my head with the plates. Also the cashier ask me the table number when I try to pay, when I said i don't know she ask me to go check.
Do not be fooled with the location and the pricey menu.
Amazed at how many waiters are on, yet don’t understand the concept of approaching a table even when you have your hand raised.
Meals were less than average. Batter on our fish was soggy and undercooked yet fish was dry and over cooked?
Don’t even get me started on the cocktail my partner ordered...
Waiter helped us finish our wonderful experience by dropping a knife on my partners lap and then taking 15 minutes to bring the bill to the table.
I understand the atmospheric, busy, trendy yet slightly tacky feeling of the restaurant.
But I’ve had better fish and chips at my local pub which is ran by derolicts.
